**This is a UK based auction, with the final price being for the Land Rover only. All shipping costs are down to the buyer to pay. I`m more than happy to assist in anyway I can with shipping from my side, and can arrange transport to Southampton or any other docks of your choice. The engine and chassis on this vehicle are factory standard** After speaking with a shipping agent today, RORO shipping to Brunswick, near the Florida border would cost around £950. I`m more than happy to get quotes for your required port, but this must be done prior to the auction ending. This is a no reserve auction for a lovely Land Rover Defender 90 factory V8. I trade in classic and retro cars for a living, and sometimes list vehicles on eBay if I am short on space or the specific vehicle is more suited to the eBay market place. The vehicle is advertised elsewhere, so there is a chance it will be removed from sale should it sell prior to the auction ending. Credit/Debit cards accepted. 2.5% surcharge for credit cards I`m afraid. This is a rare factory V8, and not a later conversion. The mileage of 79,000 is believed to be correct, going by the few previous owners and the MOT history back to 2005. BODYWORK; Finished in Land Rover Fuji white, which really does give this 1986 Land Rover a more modern feel. In superb condition throughout, with no rust anywhere. The odd very minor ding and touched in stone chip, but this is how they come out of the factory when new! Wheels are 16" Freestyles, with 30mm spacers used with Insa Turbo tyres. Comes with original LR side/rear steps and rock sliders. Clear lenses to the front, with clear indicators on the rear also. Satin black chequer plate wing tops and door bottoms too. The usual Defender weak spots are all totally solid (rear cross member, chassis, outriggers and bulkhead. The door rails appear to be new also, as no sign of rust at all. ENGINE/MECHANICS; 3.5 V8 petrol engine running standard twin carbs. This is such a sweet engine. It starts the very first turn of the key with minimal choke needed, and settles to a steady idle straight away. Very nice running engine, at the correct temperature with no overheating. Drives exactly as it should. 5 speed manual gearbox, again with no issues and this one has power steering too, which I presume must`ve been added at a later date. Clutch and steering are both as they should be, and amazingly, there are no leaks from underneath, as this Defender doesn`t mark it`s territory like most! 4x4 works correctly too. INTERIOR; Standard Defender seats in good order, with a complete dashboard. The rear looks well, and has all been painted the same Fuji white as the exterior. The door cards would be described as shabby at best, but these are relatively inexpensive to replace if chosen to do so down the line. Also, the speedo has stopped working recently. It must`ve been in the last few months, as the mileage now is higher than it was when last MOT`d. This is a typical Defender problem, and is generally down to the speedo cable or drive. No stereo. In conclusion, this is a superb Defender throughout, made to look more modern. It stands out from the crowd, and sounds fantastic with the V8 & K&N filters. The MOT is only short, until September, but with no advisories from the last one I can`t see many issues getting it through another. Any questions, please ask away. Please no messers or timewasters.
