Vehicle Detail
1969 International Travelette Up for sale is an original 1969 International Harvester "Travelette". It is a 1200d model which makes it a 3/4 ton truck, it is definately a heavy duty truck. These trucks were some of the first on the road to sport a 4 door cab, leading the way for the modern era of trucking. This vehicle still retains it's California black license plates, and is only a Second owner vehicle. This particular truck was custom ordered and sold in San Jose Ca. back in 1969, It changed hands only when the original owner passed away some 5 years ago. The truck comes equipped with a 304c.i. International V8, with a 2bbl. carbeurator, 4 speed manual transmission with granny low, posi-lok rear end, 2wd, 8' bed, and dual saddle gas tanks. These Internationals are known for their continuous duty engines, aswell as their low gearing, making them perfect for all sorts of projects requiring strength and durability, while still being able to keep up at 65mph on the modern freeways. This truck is a true survivor and shows its age very well, spending its entire life as a work truck in sunny California. It would appear that dirt and mud found its way in-between the wheel well and the inner kick panels, and as such has rusted out the kick panels at the inside of the cab, these are the only area's of concern when in comes to rust on this International. The floors in the cab and the bed are in solid shape, aswell are the bottoms of the doors, fenders, and truck bed, the pictures speak for themselves! Please take into consideration that this vehicle has had a long life, and still has many, many, years of service ahead of it, but after all it is a 46 year old truck. It will need at some point a new set of tires and rims, as it still retains its original split rims, (with tube tires) and a good looking over if intended for long distance hauling. Only 1 of the 2 gas tanks is operable at the moment, and the gas guage does not work. Other Then those few item's everything else works, all the lights, the brakes, the radio, etc. Most recently the truck has been used to haul dirt and lumber from around a small town. This is a rare opportunity to take into ownership a 2-owner, survivor, smog exempt, collector grade truck. Priced to sell, with a little attention to detail this truck can easily be brought back to original specifications. It has a Clear California title and all the registration is up to date.
