Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVE ! I originally bought this 1968 Chrysler 17’ boat and 135 HP Evinrude about 10 years ago … and it has been a delightful plaything. We live on Rushford Lake in western NY state … and in addition to using it on Rushford Lake we have also hauled it to, and used it on, both Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. And it was easily able to handle the rather larger waves often encountered on those large lakes. It is a very well built and solid tri-hull design. My wife named it Verda Classico which translates from Italian to “Green Classic” in English … and that says it perfectly … it truly is a “CLASSIC”. It epitomized the old adage … “they don’t build them like this anymore”. It exemplifies the meticulous sturdy design and construction that Chrysler engineering is famous for. Granted, like myself, it is rather old … but, if you don’t need the latest (and expensive) style boat … and you simply want a good sturdy reliable boat … then this one can fill the bill without emptying your wallet. The only reason that we are selling it is that the 135 HP V-4 Evinrude outboard that is on it died on us last summer … so the outboard motor is probably only good for parts now. And we don’t feel like going through the efforts to get a replacement. PROS … · Very solid boat … designed and built well by Chrysler. · Swivel bucket seats ... that can be reclined to lay down so you can lay out and get some sun:). · Good trailer included. · All steering and engine controls operational and in good condition. · Very solid floor. · Floor has a ‘rubberized’ covering that is in very good condition (instead of carpet that can often get rotten and dirty ... and 'smelly' :( .... So it is very easy to keep clean and odor free · The swivel and recline seats are covered with vinyl material that is in good condition and not ripped or torn. · Has a ‘portable’ fuel tank. · Has a removable window that can fill in the center of the windshield. · All navigational lights are operational. · Has a storage area beneath the center of the floor suitable for storing skies or a ladder … etc. Has another storage area in front of the bow seats that is great for stowing an anchor and lines, etc. ... as well as more storage under the bow seats that is ideal for dry stowing of life preservers and towels, etc. · The tires on the trailer have lots of tread in them … living on a lake I hardly ever trailered it except to Erie and Ontario lakes maybe a couple of time a year. · Chrysler boats were made to last … as this one clearly demonstrates. · It would make you a great reliable and durable ‘cheap’ boat for you. · It has nice ‘bow rider’ seats in good condition (with a low aluminum railing around it). · It has two snap on canvas covers … one for the bow rider area … and one for the main passenger area. · Lower unit of motor is in operable condition. CONS … · It needs a good cleaning. · I had to repair a spot in the transom where the fiberglass outer layer bubbled (you can see that area in the photos … and I never got around to painting it after I repaired it). · I started to sand down the trailer to repaint it but, never finished it … so there is some surface rust … but, there is NO structural rust. · The trailer lights are inoperable … probably just bad wires … but, I just used to use a set of portable tail tights … which I will throw in free. · The 135 HP Evinrude out board motor dose not run. That is about it. It has been a great boat for us for more than 10 years … and I’m confident that it will continue to be nice comfortable and sturdy boat for you for a long time into the future. So the bottom line is … it has the potential to make you a good, cheap, runabout boat … after the few items mentioned above are fixed. I’m starting the bidding at only $299 … and there is NO RESERVE … so the high bidder will own it … period. The amount of the high bid MUST be received by me within 48 hours after the auction ends … either by overnight mail … or by direct wire transfer from your bank to mine. (I will furnish my address and the wire transfer details upon closing of the auction.) You may then pick up the boat at any time after payment has been received by me. If you need a while before you can pick it up I can also store it for you, free of charge, indefinitely. Like all of the great boats I’ve owned over the years … I hate to part with it … but, the time has come for me to pass it on to someone else that can now get more good use out of it. So … I wish you good luck Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE
