1972 AMC Javelin SST I bought this car from an elderly man who had owned it since the 80's - and it still looks like an 80's "hot rod" with the huge tires on the back and a roadrunner decal on the front fenders. Unfotunately, he did not take the greatest care of it and it now needs a full restoration. My lans was to do that but I have since decided it is time to reduce the amount of projects I have and since I also own a 1974 Javelin that is a nice driver, I have decided to sell this one. Body - car has rust - bondo in rear wheel wells and quarters, passenger floor board is rusty, roof has been fiber-glassed where the vinyl top used to be. Not sure if that was due to rust or to protect it. Interior - complete, dash is good, seats have some splits Drive train - it has not been started in at least three years. I have not tried to start but assume it needs gas tank flushed, carb cleaned etc. It does have a nice edelbrock carb that I was told he put on right before he stopped driving it. Overall, this is a great project car - it is a real SST 360 car Please email me any questions Thanks On Jul-19-15 at 17:38:50 PDT, seller added the following information: I just found out by looking at the valve cover tag and then verifying on the block that the engine in this car is a 401....The car originally came with a 360, but the older man I bought it from must have swapped it out many years ago. He had given me an 1973 AMX hood as well so my guess is that the 401 came out of the same car.On Jul-23-15 at 15:50:22 PDT, seller added the following information: AMX hood mentioned above does not go with the car.
