Vehicle Detail

1966 Colony Park Wagon Runs and Drives Perfect Rat or Father/Son "Family Truckster" Project!! Wagons are hot these days, so are Rat Rods. Here's one that needs little to stand out! I bought this Mercury last year from a guy near me that had started to restore. He had all new brakes & lines installed, a radiator, and a new exhaust back from the manifolds. I drove it home (only about 15 miles), rebuilt the carb, installed valve cover gaskets, put a battery in it, aaaaand not much else! It will start up and run (and drive, and shift, and stop), brake lights and turn signals all work, headlights light, even the 8 track works (Yes, the Johnny Cash 8-Track is included with purchase!). what the car needs is a little elbow grease here and there to make it a nice running driver. I would replace the shocks (I bought a new set of rear shocks but never installed, they are included), the front tires are bad (put on the red wheels and the tires rubbed on the inside...noticed after I destroyed em! I bought spacers (included), and another set of newer lincoln wheels/tires is included so you can make one good set of whitewalls out of everything. It's an old Ford product soooooo, yes, there's rust! Mostly the tailgate which is pretty rotten, and the bottoms of the doors and quarters. The floors are surprisingly solid making me think (along with the low mileage) that this was one of these cars that was driven sparingly, but left out in the elements. The woodgrain is faded as is the paint. My plan was to redo the wood and leave the paint bad (again, Rat Rods get more attention these days than some all out restorations do!!). None of the glass is broken, and the seats and door panels, though dirty, are not ripped up or destroyed by water. These items i would think are the hard parts to find, everything else being used by Galaxies, Montereys, and half the other FOMOCO lineup in the 60's. Can you drive it home? Well, you can try what you want but like I said, it should be gone over quickly to make sure everything will last that initial "first voyage". I'd rather see it towed away for safety purposes. That's it, any questions, don't hesitate to ask. I'll start this one at the lowest price eBay will let me and put no reserve, so bid away!
