Replaced Air Duct on driver's side that was either damaged during disassembly of latch or prior to. DIY/ Vertex 10/12/12 147800 $504.00 Check on oil consumption. Slight increase in oil smoke and a bit more oil consumption than normal. Might have been from driving 2 wks straight w nice weather. Mobile One suggested compression test. Compression results: 1: 170, 4: 165; 2: 185, 5: 180; 3: 195, 6: 200. All within spec! Great results. results show better compression as you move from back to front of car. slight wall scoring on cylinder wall scoring and a little bit of oil on lowest compression (#4), but nothing on the piston seals or elsewhere that would indicate excessive oil burn there. Oil cooler on front passenger side was clogged w mud. removed, cleaned and reinstalled. should see change in oil temps now w that working properly. This was never an issue before. Mobile One 10/27/12 148000 $233.00 Replace blower motor due to excessive noise. Started after repair above was completed. New heater blower motor 01301111145, resistor 96461655000, relay 811951253. Vertex 10/27/12 148000 $58.00 $270.00 Replace blower motor and troubleshoot. Tested HVAC unit for traces of burnt stuff, etc to make sure it's working properly. $58 for a sensor 96465912000. Mobile One 3/9/13 151000 $129.00 $800.00 Replace targa-top-to-windshield seal. After above attempt to fix targa top seal, then sending top in for refurbishment, existing seal material was cut out. Wind noise expected to be reduced. Tried to get the seal out and determined best option to grind it off, repaint that area. then the new seal will go into a fresh spot w no leftovers. came out looking excellent and much less noise. Mobile One 4/30/13 151500 $299.25 Oil change and filter clean. ID and fix minor fuel leak. Had gas smell in car. Replaced fuel pump outlet crush washers. Fuel leak gone. Also eliminated bogging out @ startup. Mobile One 11/1/13 156198 $824.93 Oil change and filter. Mobil 1 10-w-30. Fixed driver door compartment, which was pretty badly cracked. Pulled intake manifolds off to find source of occasional rough starts. For 1 month or so, was taking 2 tries to get started. Could not repeat this issue at the shop. 6 hrs @ $95/hr to pull manifolds off and clean extensively. Likely reason there was evidence of oil leak was: when oil is overfilled, will get oil sucked into intake and then onto top of motor. car has never blown white smoke, so not an engine issue. Mobile One 12/3/13 156500 Add power steering fluid. DIY 8/15/14 158600 $140.00 $508.40 Oil change and filter. Brad Penn 20w-50. Hardwired radar detector cabling to different fuse. Was on dome light, and that's on all the time. Now on when car is on, off when car is off. Had some intermittent issues w car not starting on 1st try. The car started every time on the first time when at the shop and now since i've had it for a week, starts every time on the first time for me. Replaced front differential washer that had caused a small leak. Replaced Freon Cap that was causing A/C system slow leak. recharged A/C. Mobile One 9/3/14 159700 Blackstone Labs oil test results. PAT: You noted that this oil might be 5W/30, but the viscosity was in the 10W/30 range, so your original guess was correct. A 5W/30 would probably work, but we'd guess Porsche specs the thicker stuff. Wear metals look good here and that's just what we had hoped for given the slightly shorter-than-average oil run. Universal averages show typical wear after ~3,800 miles oil use. The flashpoint was on target so no excess fuel dilution was getting into the oil. Insolubles were excellent, so the oil filter was working like it should. You’ve got a good thing going here. 4/24/15 162019 $25.56 $141.54 Oil change and filter. Brad Penn 20w50. New fuse - blower motor fuse blew. Minor crack. Will keep an eye on it. 4/28 first drive after install of fuse and blew again. Trying 30 amp fuse replacing 25 A, per Jason.
