Ground up rebuild!! This bike is new from top to bottom. We have tons of pictures of the full bike and engine tear down and rebuild. All new paint, powder coat and chrome. The registration is Non-op in California and can easily be registered for the street. All you would have to do is install turn signals and mirrors. All wiring is intact as well as the flasher and switches. We left them off to keep the clean smooth lines of the rare and beautiful Vesco fairings undisturbed. The fairings are EXTREMELY RARE. These are not new knock offs or even older reproductions. They are period correct real Don Vesco fairings. They have the Don Vesco "V" arrow symbol as seen in the pics below. The "café royal" fairings are super rare as opposed to the "rabid trasit" fairings that are far more common. You would be hard pressed to find another set of these fairings anywhere. They were fashioned from Don Vesco's Daytona bodywork. Some of the best aerodynamics of the day. After some email correspondence with the Vesco family who now live in Utah and are still very active in racing, we are led to believe the with the rarity of the 1975 cb400f that there might have been 5-10 of the "café royal" fairings made for that specific bike out of the 100-150 "café royal" body kits made in total, and out of that, how many have survived in 40 years could make this bike the only one left. We have talked to some industry insiders, some bike builders, and some old timers that knew Don well and the consensus is that no one has seen more that 2 or 3 of the café royal fairings in the last 40 years, and not even on a cb400f. If you don't know who Don Vesco is, look him up! Don was inducted into the AMA hall of fame and had broken more land speed records than just about anyone! He also used to own a Yamaha dealership in El Cajon, CA. To top it off, this bike looks to have been owned by another California factory Honda racing legend that we are currently trying to contact to get more info on this bike and bodywork. ***the emails from the Vesco family we received are below***"...The pictures you sent to Vesco Racing is of our Cafe Royal fairing and seat combination. The fairing was an attempt to build a high quality cafe fairing with some practicality built in. The seat had a hinged upholstered back that flipped down to allow access to storage in the tail. The seat shape came from our "Daytona" seat that was used to streamline the back end of the racing bikes. The basic fairing was expanded to be our "Rabid Transit" sport touring fairing. I have attached a photo of the original prototype fairing (seen below) and seat that was mounted on a Yamaha RD250. The photo was taken at Bonneville in front of the Silver Bird after Don set the record at 300+ mph if I remember correctly.Hope that answers your questions about the fairing/seat combo.Best, Matt Guzzetta" "...We don't have any records of the amount of fairings produced, the Cafe Royal was kinda expensive for the smaller bikes and we probably made about 100-150 of those. We made about 1500 of the larger Rabid Transit fairings, mostly for BMW and Suzuki motorcycles." if you have any questions you can text me at 760-576-7456 and I will do my best to answer any and all questions you may have
