Vehicle Detail

This is a solid beetle I purchased from an ederly gentleman that babied his vehicles and was extremely upset that he had to go into an assisted care facility. It was kept in dry storage and at some point I'm assuming was restored in the mid to late 80's with a trip here and there on the odometer to keep things working as they should. The beetle cleaned up very well once I took the years worth of dust off with a garden hose....I debated this because the appearance of taking it out of the barn was like opening a time capsule...it looked awesome however I had to see what was underneath. It has a slight patina to it that gets thumbs up everywhere we go. It's extremely dependable and has never let me sit. I have new BRM's on it however they will not be included in the sale unless negotiated above the selling price. You will receive the original wheels with new tires as seen in the majority of the pictures. The car could use a thorough cleaning, I kept it like it was and showed it as an original barn survivor...won lots of trophies with her. As I stated before the battery tray was repaired at some point and remains solid. I found a very small hole in the spare tire well that I can live with however it may bother some people. I went for the purist look. I added the roof rack which will accompany the sale and an empi shifter...I will include the original shifter with her when sold. I've had lots of fun with her at cruise ins and car shows, you don't see many of them any more. It is stock for the most part other than the roof rack, shifter and empis I added to give her that so cal look. Heater channels, pan and under carriage is solid and it appears the entire car had been gone through before being placed in the time capsule that I found it in. The owner was a VW mechanic that was very proud of her. I'm selling her because I'm approaching the end of a 5 year resoration on a 64 split window T2 and have to make room in my garage. I'd love to keep both however I can't. I will do my best to accommodate any additional requests for pictures, I'm limited due to a serious back injury however I can have a friend snap a picture or two if you're a serious buyer. This is an excellent candidate for a total restoration or drive her as she sits. All glass in original german with no isses. Rear glass is stationary they are not pop outs. I will require a $500 deposit at the end of the sale and the remainder via a wire transfer or certified check. I will release her for transport once all funds have cleared. Good luck and happy bidding.
