1962 Volvo PV544 in excellent running condition. This was a West Coast CA black plate car with 4 owners including me. Body condition is outstanding with no holes,patch panels or plastic. Minor dings and an old repaint that would make a good base for another painting if you want. All service records from the early 70's and they show the previous owners,including me, have put a lot of money to maintain the car.List of items done in service history by me and previous owners: New tires, Weber conversion on great running re-built motor,new fuel pump and tank with sending unit, radiator cleaned new hoses and thermostat, drive shaft center bushings, new shocks, rear trailing bushings, clutch shaft bushings, new brake drums, shoes and wheel cylinders, stainless brake lines, sony am/fm radio, rear seat new foam, heater fan motor, engine rebuilt, Cranes electronic ignition, 12v alternator, old repaint while dull is in good solid condition and would make a good base for repaint. Maybe a a buff with some lite compound would bring some shine back. Trunk floor and rear pan are solid like it left the factory. Tight front end and steering box makes the car track true hands off at 60.The engine rebuild was done at 98,000 and runs strong with no oil or smoke comimg out. Dash has some splits and the front seats need some stiching. New interior carpet and fresh 165 80R 15's. Complete service records going back to the early 70's. The PV spent it's entire life in San Diago and the black plates go with the buyer. The car is driven all the time in nice weather and I consider it safe and reliable.To answer the question "Can I drive it home"?. Well yes. It just depends how much of a hurry your in, how fast you want to go and where you live. With it's 4:11 gearing the PV's run best on the back roads with an occassional sprint on the interstate at 60 in the right lane. Having shipped a lot of vehicles I can suggest best way to transport and will be avialble on this end. Very important. New York State did not issue titles until after 1974 and all vehicles before this date came with a transferable registration. What that means is that the back of my registration has a place for the seller and buyer to sign. This along with a bill of sale is given to your DMV. Ask questions if you are not clear on this point or check your DMV before you bid.
