2001 BMW 540i M-Sport ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~My 2001 540i M-Sport is up for sale. It is in great condition, as can be seen in the pictures. It has 145,950 miles and no mechanical problems whatsoever. It was purchased at Century BMW in Greenville, South Carolina in 2001. I bought it directly from the first owner at approximately 93,000 miles in 2013. It has been regularly maintained at Century BMW since 2001 and has a full record there (dealership has agreed to confirm maintenance history with buyer). The oil has been changed every 3000-5000 miles since the original purchase. All dealer recommended maintenance has been routinely performed including all belts, transmission fluid, differential fluid, brake fluid, new fuel injectors at 120k, alignment, and pads. The first owner was an Anesthesiologist and I (the second owner) am a welder at BMW Manufacturing Co. We both understand how to properly maintenance the vehicle. The sedan is completely stock aside from the LED License Plate Lights, 2003 M-Sport Black Side Trim, and 4000k Hella XENON Angel Eye bulb upgrades. It has never been modified or driven hard. It was purchased with every option including M-Sport Package, Lighting Package, Staggered Forged Wheels [18x8 Front & 18x9 Rear], 740i Memory Performance Seats, 12-Speaker Premium Hi-Fi Amplified sound system ($1200), and Steptronic Sport Transmission. This is from a low-speed collision in 2014. The only reason this resulted in a salvage title is because having OEM quality body repair of any kind on a BMW is unbelievably expensive. I wanted to make sure that the repairs were done right. Replacing both headlights with OEM Xenons alone was $1500 (only one needed replacing, but it was imperative that they matched in wear and look.) You have to remember that this 5 series was over $60,000 when purchased new in 2001. The vehicle was still in such great condition after the collision that I decided to spend some of my own money to repair it. It resulted in the replacement of the front hood, front bumper, headlights, and radiator. All work was done at Carolina Paint and Body and was inspected by Century BMW. The repairs were top notch and the car has run perfectly for the 30k+ miles since. The leather on the driver's side seat is cracked in a couple of places.
