Vehicle Detail
Going into retirement and moving into smaller living quarters, so several of my bikes must go. I’m the 2nd owner. Would love to keep this one, but I have 2. I love these 650’s so much I bought 2 of them. This bike was acquired from the original owner, who rode it a total of 226 miles on his family’s farm a trip 150 miles away. It was not ridden much and the owner stated the bike scared him and the bike sat in his garage all these years (until last year). I took it to my shop and cleaned her up to the point a new bike was under all that dried up mud. The bike was completely detailed and gone through. Any part that was oxidized or rusted was replaced with Honda OEM. First thing to go was the carb and petcock since it had been sitting with fuel in it. The tank was reconditioned and a new Honda OEM carb put on with a JD Jetting Kit (highly recommended on OEM Carbs on XRR’s). The suspension was redone by JM Racing and all the bearings, steering, wheel and linkage cleaned and greased. The swing arm was setup to factory specs. With proper pre-load. Chain adjuster bolts replaced and use anti-seize. The engine was compression checked just to verify it was within specification. The engine was detailed on the outside, but never taken apart except to replace the clutch plates with a new Barnett kit and install the Honda OEM upgrade sleeve on the clutch hub. The new sleeve was an upgrade on ’02 and newer I believe. It has additional holes to allow better lubrication. Valves were checked and are within the spec. per the Honda manual. The sprockets and chain were fine, but I like to upgrade to some serious quality stuff. The bike was tested and it runs fantastic and handles like a dream. The rims and hubs were good and true. The spokes have slight oxidation coloration to them. The bike is "uncorked" as they say. The bike looks showroom new. Ready to Ride, Race, Collect or Dual sport. Bike has been kept inside my home in a climate controlled environment. What a great machine. I now know why there is almost a cult-like following of these bikes.Bike is supplied with Manufacturers Certificate of Origin.
