1972 Corvette Stingray Someone bought the car, said they had the funds, and then didn't have the funds. So I am re-listing. Please don't buy the car if you don't have the funds. I have received lots of questions and interest. To sum it up: the car is as close to a survivor as you will find. Has been repainted in the late 1990's once the original color. Paint is probably 7 out of ten. Paint is nice. Engine was rebuilt and a few more things were done as described in detail below. The car has never been apart and is all original except headers and steering wheel. I have the original wheel. If you want something original, this is it. If you want something rusted and beat up, buy another corvette. This is a nice car for someone looking for a 40 year old corvette that has all numbers matching parts and everything works, including seat belt lights, wiper door, headlight doors. Has always been kept inside, is not rusted or abused and is tight as brand new. I might decide to keep it. Color - Targa Blue Metallic Mileage 80,236 Factory air, power steering, automatic, power brakes. Runs perfect, smooth, and straight down the highway. Frame is perfect and never had an issue. The car has been kept garaged. This Corvette is very reliable and could be driven across the US with no problem. This car has not been taken apart and is original. Numbers matchingThe only things missing as far as I can tell are the exhaust manifolds (has headers), and thats it. The steering wheel is a replacement, but I have the original that can be restored. The ignition shielding is not installed on the engine but included, as you can see in the pictures. The carb is a Rochester and I assume it is also matching as the previous owner verified. Have all supporting documentation I received when I bought it, and what I put into it. All work since I purchased was done by County Corvette, one of the best Corvette Restoration specialists in the US. The work performed was to make sure the car was safe, very reliable, and correct as numbers matching. County Corvettecountycorvette.com Everything works except:AM/FM Casette - casette works great. Radio does not work. I never tried to find out why.Heater - low and medium work fine. High fan does not go on.Sometimes the driver power window does not work, but fiddling with it and it works. Clock works but then stops sometimes. I never tried to find out why.Air conditioning - not sure as I never put the belt on to try it. New Work 350 original engine was rebuilt with a mild cam and rochester carb, and headers. Runs real smooth and like new. Has lots of power. Rear side axle yokes, positraction clutches and rebuild kit which includes bearings and seals. Spider gears, ring and pinion gears, and positraction unit itself inspected and fine. Headlight canister, some hoses, to make the headlights open and closeFuel tank flushed and new filters.Pertronix ignition, tune up, carbs adjusted, timing.Cooling system flushed and new heater hoses.Disk brakes rebuilt.Gas Cap.Belts.K&N air filter.Heavy duty battery. Basic InformationAutomatic Transmission TH400. Shifts like brand new. Fluid is bright red and no leaks. Power steering works fine with no leaks. Wipers work fine and doors open and close. Headlights work fine and open and close as they should. All the gauges work. The seat belt warning buzzers and light works. The door open buzzer and light works. Interior is original. So this means the rugs should probably be replaced. The rear storage compartment frame needs replacement. These in numbers matching are very inexpensive. I kept all the original screws and boards and latch parts. Nothing is missing. Will eventually need mufflers. The body panels fit perfect. County Corvette said this car has been taken of care of and the frame and suspension, etc... are very good. A real nice original car that has not been abused. The car has been well kept from day one. Paint is real nice. When on a lift you can see a slight drip on the lower passenger door. You can't see it unless on a lift. Overall the paint is real nice with a few normal use scratches here and there, and a few chips in the paint. A good wax job will clean it up real well. Body appears to be perfect with no cracks or chips anywhere. Chrome appears to be all original and in good condition. Please ask questions. Here are answers to questions I received: As far as I can tell, the nose had never ben off. It looks like the car has never been taken apart. It is a survivor, except the engine was rebuilt. And I had the clutch packs replaced. County Corvette said the frame is excellent and has never been touched. I have a lift in my garage and I can see all the original bolts and assemblies. It runs straight as an arrow. No windshield rust.I believe I am the third owner. I bought it from a guy in North Carolina that had it since the 1990's and it has always been kept inside. I am sure he would know the original owner or who he bought it from.No original documentation. Only documentation I received from the owner and what I have as described.I am not sure if it has the original radio. It says corvette on it and looks original so I assume it is the original.No original camshaft.No original exhaust manifolds.Original air cleaner I am not sure about. The one on it might be original, maybe you can tell from the photo?Fuel system tank was flushed and gauge sender replaced in tank. Replaced the filter at the carb. It is just the original rugs and the original compartment's made in some kind of original composite material. All the original parts are available including glove box, screws, light switch, etc...
