Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Truck runs good and has been inside most of its life. It has no rust and is still tight. I haven’t used the truck in several years. I start it up about once a month and let it warm up. Things needed are mufflers and seat recovered. The passenger door window has cracks. The rear tires still have some life but if I were going to load it I would replace them. The front tubeless tires are new. It will go 65 MPH with ease and drives good. I will give fair warning that people will be turning their heads and asking a lot of questions. You just don’t see these classic trucks any more. I replaced the Ford 300ci 6-cyl after it threw a rod. I did not want to reinstall another 6-cyl because it was so under powered. I was going to get a big block ford engine but could not find a suitable one. I researched engines and found that the Pontiac 455 engine torque curve was perfect for this application. Turns out it gets a lot better gas mileage than the 6-cyl and more than ample power to go up the hills. I have been well pleased with this set up. 1970 455 Pontiac engine; about 8,000 miles since rebuild.4 speed transmission that came with the truck.
