Vehicle Detail
1976 Honda Elsinore MR175Manufactured 12/75, this Elsinore is in great condition. It appears to be original, unmolested, unrestored. It has had little use and looks like it has been garage kept. It starts, stops, runs and rides. This bike came out of the factory as an MR175, which was street legal with horn, lights, turn signals, mirrors and a battery. At some point it was converted to an MT style bike, by removing all of the above listed items. None of the items are available with this bike. It is strictly off-road now.I am not an Elsinore expert and I received this bike on a trade. It had both fuel delivery problems and electrical issues at the time. I put in a new factory Honda coil and replaced the carb with a new Keihin 28mm intake. After changing the fluids, replacing the air filter, flushing the tank and cleaning out the petcock, it fired right up. It has quick acceleration and ran through all the gears. I ran it a few miles through the neighborhood. I haven't taken it on a trail ride. The brakes work well. You can enjoy it just the way it is or restore it to showroom condition. The odometer only shows 2687 miles. Looking at the overall condition of the bike that might be accurate but there is no way of actually verifying the mileage. Condition Notes:No title is available. Bike is sold on a Bill of Sale only. Overall great shape for an unrestored 1976 vintage bike.Airbox is original and undrilled. Air Filter is new and correct to the bike. I didn't find any welds, cracks, or dings in the frame. The rims are in great condition. The front tire is showing early signs of dry cracking close to the rim. It is a Bridgestone Motocross 7. 3.00 - 21 non-highway useThe rear tire is much newer, but it is oversized. It is a Dunlop Sports D739 Desert AT. 120/100 - 18 non-highway useThe tank has a few pits, worn paint, and a crease on the right side below the Honda logo. Also has two small dings in front of tank on each side. Small tear on seat side panel, right side. The rubber boot on the intake flange was gaped open and cracked. It was replaced with a boot that came with the new carb.I am not sure which carb originally came with the bike, but I will throw in the one I took off, which is a Mikuni and should be repairable. The white plastic fenders have some rough spots, are stained, and have some widespread checking and crazing. The front forks will need a new seal kit. Missing as previously described is the battery, battery box, headlight, tail light, turn signals, mirrors, horn. Most of the wiring for these items appears to still be in place. Also missing is the side number plate and mount, the ignition switch, and the tools for the toolbox - which is still mounted. The rubber sleeve for the kick starter is missing. The handle bar grips are worn and the left one is separating on the end.The motor has the correct numbers for the year and appears to be original to the bike. Overall this Elsinore is in great shape for its age and appears to have been lightly used over its life. It looks as though it has been garage kept. It's very close to original condition and shows very low miles. It's not a show bike, but you could take it out on the trail and not worry about it. I have tried to accurately describe the bike and list the known defects and other issues. It's almost 40 years old, and I am not an expert so I might have missed something. It is an "as is" sale. No warranties, no returns. The bike is for sale locally and the auction could end early, so Bid To Win. There is no Buy-It-Now price, there won't be one, and the reserve is low for a 1976 Elsinore in this condition. It is available for inspection in Reno, Nevada before the sale ends. You can pick it up or have your shipper pick it up. I do not have the means to transport the bike. I can store it up to 30 days after it's paid in full while you arrange pick up or shipping. Pay $300 deposit via PayPal or cash in person within 48 hours of your winning bid. Balance due within 72 hours of your winning bid. Don't bid if you can't pay for it or you have to check with someone after you placed the winning bid. eBay costs time and money. Don't waste mine and I won't waste yours. I have heard enough scams and excuses to last me two lifetimes. You can't pay with a third party Nigerian Cashier's Check. Non-paying bidders will be remanded to your local Voodoo Doctor for special treatments. These bikes are becoming rare and it's hard to find one that hasn't suffered from years of abuse. Don't miss a chance to get a great deal on a great bike. Email your questions. If you need more info or a photo or better look at a specific area let me know. I'll try to post a link to a video of it running. THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK BIDDING. REMEMBER: AS IS - NO TITLE IS AVAILABLE - BILL OF SALE ONLY On Jun-08-15 at 22:29:59 PDT, seller added the following information: June 8 Additional information. Thanks to a helpful eBayer, this bike has always been an MR model, which originally came with a headlight and tail light (removed from this bike). It did not have the turn signals, horn, etc. like the MT model. So any wiring left on this bike would be associated with the headlight and tail light, not the turn signals, horn, etc. Also someone who looked at the bike pointed out that the foot peg mounts might have been repaired or re-welded at some time. Sorry for the confusion.
