Vehicle Detail
This was my father's 1989 Ford Mustang GT. He passed away in 2012, right before I was starting law school, and now that I've finished and have an immense amount of debt, it's time to let it go--as I don't get many opportunities to drive it. And I was paying to keep insurance and tags on it; side note, this car, despite it's power, is less than half the price of my Monte Carlo or my sister's Kia Sorento to insure. My father was a mechanic, and the Mustang has been stored in a cement floored, humidity and climate controlled building. My grandfather, who is also a mechanic, has continued to service the it every so often, and I occasionally pull it out of the shop, charge the battery, clean it off, and let it run. My dad and Grandpa both are very particular with their vehicles, and this car has been beautifully maintained. However, it has sat more than it should have over the last three years. Though it does start up right away every time, I do think that it would be in the car's best interest to be with someone that has the time and money to use it a little more. A little about the car's history: When I was in high school, my dad purchased this car from a customer of his, who also was very particular with his cars. He told me that it came from Arizona, and I would believe it, as it has zero rust on the body. My dad refinished the ceiling which had some marking and spots, but it has been reupholstered and looks brand new now. We also purchased a new seat for the driver side, and it is like new--no stains, tears, holes or blemishes. The carpets are very well maintained, however, next to the console on the passenger's side there is some spotting; it happened before we owned it, but it is not super noticeable or unsightly. The back seats and the hatchback area are both very well maintained; they are basically like new, though the carpet in the back is a little bit dusty--nothing a good shop vac couldn't remedy. The body is nicely maintained with very few or minor defects. One headlight was replaced and is a bit brighter than the other. The black portion around the keyholes on the driver side door and trunk have very minor scratches from where the key goes in. And the tint is bubbled and could probably stand to be replaced. After-market upgrades: The stereo system, obviously, is not stock. When we purchased the car it was missing the stereo, so we decided to upgrade it to new sound system. Though technology changes quickly, this stereo has CD with MP3 capabilities. The speakers however are still very much in-line with modern speakers, and still sound beautiful--and have the potential to get real loud. I believe all the speakers are Kenwood, and the Stereo is Pioneer. Also, as I previously mentioned, the ceiling, driver's seat, and floor mats have all been replaced. But the clutch was also upgraded before I got it. All I know about it is my dad referred to it as a "performance cable clutch." I will say this, I loved this car. I loved spending time with my dad and working on it. I even loved the memories of him yelling, "FEATHER THE FOOT-FEET" at me again and again as I tried to learn a manual transmission on the track around our town's football field, even though I really had no idea what he meant. I loved taking girls out on dates in it. I loved cruising around with my buddies or my dad. And I'll always cherish those memories. But it's time to let it go. I really hope that it can find a family that will love it and care for it the way we did. If you have any further questions or would like additional information or pictures of specific parts, please let me know. I believe that we also have a few spare parts for the car, too--which I will throw in for free: new shocks, steering wheel, and maybe something else if I remember right. We may also even have the old seats, and if we do, they'd come free too. Legal: This car's title is free and clear of any and all liens. You are purchasing as is; I do not provide a warranty. I also do not warranty any of the items that are being given in addition to the vehicle either. Payment is to be made via cash or cashier's check; it must be paid prior to, or simultaneously with, shipment or pick-up. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Though, I will do my best to accommodate however you choose to ship--whether that's be here while you pick up or while your shipping company picks up. I am not responsible or liable for the car in transit after it has been picked up. Currently the car is not insured, and if you wish to drive it home, you may wish to arrange that prior to picking it up. I also certify that to the best of my knowledge, there is 125k miles on it, but I don't ever remember it turning over, so it could just be 25k. However, because I am not entirely positive, I will not misrepresent this car. Not that it should be an issue, especially going through eBay, but if you purchase this car, you agree to indemnify and provide reasonable attorney's fees and out-of-pocket expenses for any resulting litigation from a breach of contract.
