Vehicle Detail
Up for your consideration is nice driver 1965 Tr4A. Originally optioned with red exterior, black interior, white top, wire wheels, leaf spring rear axle, and standard 4 speed transmission. This is a great opportunity to own a British sports car. Tr4A was brought out of long term dry storage purchased from an estates sell a few years ago. Tr4A belonged to a retired British car mechanic and enthusiast who had passed away. This is one of three British cars I purchased from his family. Tr4A has been maintained through the years utilizing a lot of original parts. Tr4A is in overall very good dependable condition. Non-overdrive four speed gearbox with chrome wire wheels. Tr4A retains its original driveline that came with car. Engine, transmission, and brakes work good with no issues. Starts, runs, drives, and brakes. Car is driven a few times a month; never a problem. No electrical issues, no fuel problems, no braking problems, no issues that I have noticed. Engine does leak oil like most. Restoration is older and presents well. I have lots of documentation through the years including pictures of stripped down body on the frame paint job (the body has never been removed). It's always been red / black combo with one stripped down repaint. It's an older paint job with a few flaws, blemishes, some paint chips and scratches; but a solid car with no rot. Original floor pans. Minor corrosion on driver’s side, but has been sealed and fixed. All body work and paint was performed years ago; never a rusted out car and rebuilt. Rocker panels were replaced. So much work and maintenance have been done over the years can’t list it all here. Tr4A remains in dry garage today and driven occasionally. I believe I'm the third owner. Not perfect but a good daily driver. I have many pictures, receipts, folders, and etc; good history. Check out the pictures. Details: Mechanical Engine rebuilt. Head reworked with harden valve seats. New bearings, rings, seals, water pump, fuel pump, generator, high torque starter, and etc. High performance cooling fan (have original fan as well).Carbs completely rebuilt. All new hoses, belts, plug wires, and etc.Original radiator flush, cleaned, painted. Transmission rebuilt with new clutch, pressure plate, throughout bearing. Transmission shifts smooth up and down. No noise and no popping out of gear. New clutch master and slave cylinders with new SS flex line.Rear differential quite, new axle seals and bearings serviced. Brakes system rebuilt. New calipers, pads, wheel cylinders, shoes, and flex lines.New front shocks, ball joints, fulcrums, and upper urethane bushings installed. Have new lower kit never installed.New stainless steel exhaust system.Wipers and interior fan does not work. I never investigated to see why. Interior All new interior, carpet, dash, door panels, dash pads, etc. The rear panels are very nice originals.Seats were completely redone, frames stripped and powder coated. All new hardware, foam, and black leather. New wood dashboard from Roadster Factory, very nice. New MonoLite wood steering wheel. New steering couplers. Exterior Paint looks good overall but does have some blemishes. Car looks great standing back. No rust. Clear coat application. Hood was wet sanded and buffed; rich deep color. The bad – car does have paint blemishes as said; nicks, etc due to storage. The lower left fender next to rocker appears to have been reworked during paint. I’m not impressed with final product, again no rust even after all this time as past. Paint shop can touched up to match or leave it as it is as a driver. I’m not a body or paint guy, so I never finished.Top is new; heavy duty and premium quality. Requires final installation to be finish. (Also, I still have the original worn top that came with the car)Top frame was restored and painted. Nice original boot cover and nice tonnue cover. Lots of re-chrome, new side marker and tail lights (have originals). Remaining original chrome is above average. Nice grille and nice Lucas headlights.Clean inside and out. Includes car cover. Many other new parts. Many of the new parts installed are from the Roadster Factory and Moss Motors. I have many new and used parts for this Tr4A. Parts can be purchased separately at end of winning auction. Price will be negotiable. Remember this is a classic, vintage British car and not "new"; not perfect but a nice example for the enthusiast level car. Reasonably priced. If you have a question, ask! Ask questions, email for more info and pictures. I will answer completely and honestly. Highly recommend an inspection prior to bidding and prior to end of auction. Buyer responsible for all shipping and related cost. I will assist in shipping arrangements if prior agreement is made before end of auction. Clear Florida Title. Exact mileage unknown. Sold as-is, no warranty implied. Sale is for only the red Tr4A. USA only...don't know too much about selling outside US, I do know there's a lot of fees and extra cost. On May-21-15 at 18:44:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Several questions about top and spare tire. New premium white top is partially installed on car. Top frame and rear top rail have been restored. All new hardware and straps. I will take pictures tomorrow and post. I have the original top that came with car, it's worn from shear age. I have a spare wheel, it's a painted spoke wheel. Screw jack included. I have the original spare tire hold down device as well. On May-22-15 at 05:37:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry, EBAY won't allow me to add pictures of the top & etc. Call me if you want more details or pictures sent to you. (321) 289-8095 C TimOn May-22-15 at 09:00:11 PDT, seller added the following information: More info: Oil leaks are at the rear main "scroll" seal (leaks here are common, not a real rubber lipped seal like modern cars), valve cover gasket, and the front timing cover seal. I have a new valve cover gasket, timing cover seal and gasket to go with car. I just never took the time to replace leaky seals since I only drive ~500 miles a year. Engine has ~5000 miles on rebuild. I don't think it burns any oil, just leaks (no exhaust oil smoke). I use Castrol 20-50 GTX oil with the ZZD additive to protect the cam & lifters. Sell includes a painted spare spoke rim/tire, original spare tire hold down, screw jack, car cover, original worn top, tonnue cover, boot cover, original tail light housings, a few misc parts. I don't have the optional side mirrors.
