Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1966 Chevy Chevelle Malibu. This is an original Regal red car with red/black interior. Under the hood is the SBC 283 backed by a powerglide automatic transmission. The car is a factory A/C 283 2 barrel carb, powerglide car. The carb has been upgraded to a 4 barrel. The car had sat under a shed/barn for almost 30 years until a few weeks ago. I took the car and gave it a fresh tune up (points, plugs, fluids, valve cover gaskets, etc). I then had the carburetor rebuilt by Johnny Beaver carburetors in Plainview TX, I can let the car sit for several days and just bump the key and it fires right up. I then dropped the tank and flushed it out, it was very clean and not tarnished, I then blew out the lines and replaced the rubber sections. I also flushed out the radiator and it still had nice clean anti-freeze in it. Once I got it fired and running I then put a new set of white line tires, and reinstalled the original hub caps. The tires still have the little titties on them and 100% tread life. All the glass is good and in great condition. The paint is chipping and has bumps and a few dents as you would expect for a 50 year old car. I ran a buffer over it and has and awesome patina. The interior still has the original carpet and seats, you could redo them or drive like it is. The windows go up and down as the should, the dome lights, fuel gauge, horn all work. Most of the original owners manual was still in the glove box and will be included. This would be a perfect car to restore or just drive like it is. You wont find another car that is this complete and that will save you hundreds of dollars and headaches by not having to hunt parts. It would not take much to make this a super nice car, it has some rust in the lower quarters behind the wheels, the toe boards will need patches along with a trunk pan but sill a solid car. Frame looks real nice and solid. It does run and drive but will still need work to be road worthy. The brakes work but they are 50 years old, I have not touched them but would be a good idea to go thru them as you should with any classic car. I do have the title, keys, and part of the owners manual. I know I am forgetting many things so please ask questions before bidding. I would love to keep the car but I have to many already and not enough room. Please look at the pictures and video below and ask questions if you have any. I prefer local pick up but will ship if buyer arranges all shipping. Car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end auction early. $500 dollar deposit due within 48 hours of action end, rest of payment is due at time of pick up.
