Vehicle Detail

1976 V8 MGB ROADSTER. This was converted by a soldier in the Army, before i acquired it. He had had it stored for many years. The vehicle is free from any visible rust and is a very solid vehicle as most Texas classic cars tend. We intended to keep this vehicle for personal use, but circumstances have arisen that force a sale. We did a complete servicing and overhaul of the driveline, fuel system (inc. replacement fuel tank) and various other mechanical systems. The vehicle drive and runs great. A well running 302 FORD V8 is installed (not smoking with a lot of power) attached to a C4 Automatic gear box that shifts smoothly. The previous owner updates most of the interior to new pieces (with the exception of the seats and door cards). There are speakers installed in the doors, but the radio slot is empty ready to receive the new owners preference. The top is in mostly good condition, but has a couple of small patches on it. The vehicle brakes, however it has the original MGB disc's on the front, and the ford drums on the rear. You can use the vehicle as is, or upgrade sometime in the future depending on how you would drive the vehicle. As the photos show the exhaust system has been piped through the inner front fender and into side exhausts, resembling a Shelby Cobra. It also adorns a tastefully sculpted hood bump for the hotrod effect. This car gets A LOT of attention from the public, and is very striking. The car was painted about ten years ago, and whilst shiny, could really do with a respray to make it really look the part. There may be some misc. small items that need attention or replacement. The original manual pedal box is still installed. Also there was a small 5mph bump on the front bumper (from transporting the vehicle), and there is some slight damage as a result. Purely cosmetic but easily repairable when repainted. The photos may or may not reflect this. Feel free to ask questions. The vehicle comes with a large folder of photos, receipts and other documentation. A clear TEXAS TITLE comes with the vehicle. No implied warranty or guarantee. Also, ANY PRIOR INSPECTION of the vehicle is WELCOME. So long as it's done onsite and with permission. I'm happy to work with the winning bidder for collection of the vehicle (i.e. be available for collection from shipping firms, or the buyer themselves). The vehicle may not leave until all funds are clear. On Apr-26-15 at 17:43:09 PDT, seller added the following information: Hi guys, i've had a lot of questions on the MGB, so i thought i would address them here in the description. I won't be getting back into town until tomorrow, so i apologize for all of you who were hoping to either come see the car, or wanted further photos. Yes the steering wheel is a wooden Motolita with MGB boss in good condition. It is matched with a wooden transmission knob that has the MGB emblem. The shifter is a B&M, and it looks very nice and well installed. I believe those most of the gauges are NOT hooked up. The only one that registers is the Oil pressure gauge, and the needle sits at over half way when the motor is running. I purchases a replacement fuel gauge, and will include it in the package. The clock is working. The headlights/high beams are working. The hazard lights are working. The braking light are NOT working (probably either the pedal switch or perhaps a fuse). I haven't had any real time to go over the electric system, so many of these might be fuses or something simple. There is TWO radiator AUX fans attached and wires, but i haven't had a good look for the switch. Perhaps its thermostatically operated? I haven't had it out on the road long enough to test it as she is not registered/licensed. Only taken around the neighborhood. The last item we replaced was a brand new thermostat and thermostat housing. The seats come with the woolen black covers and look nice with them on. There a few misc. parts that come with the vehicle. if you have any specific angles for photos, please ask as i will be making some tomorrow. I will also try to make a video. Cheers! On Apr-28-15 at 08:52:48 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer more questions: All tires have really good tread, but have aged and have some cracks here and there. Whilst the hazard blinkers work, the individual indicator blinkers don't respond to stalk control. The 'boot' is fully carpeted and includes a spare tire and rim. There is an MG monogramed wheel cover. The floormats are also embossed with MG badge momograms. On Apr-28-15 at 16:11:52 PDT, seller added the following information: Hey guys. just added a photo of the engine bay. The weather was poor so i couldn't make a video today. hoping tomorrow ill be better. to answer some more questions: The rear end is ford 9" diff and wheel hubs. It was narrowed to fit in the mgb. The Dash does have a couple of cracks and aging, but the areas can be covered with dash caps that are available on eBay. I was told by the PO that he though the motor might have a mild cam - but i don't know how to verify this. The car comes with a folder of receipts, documentation, photos from various stages of building, title, etc. The trunk and rear parcel areas are fully carpeted with new kits. Anything else, please shoot me a question. Cheers. On Apr-30-15 at 04:57:58 PDT, seller added the following information: hello. some of you have asked if the MGB can be driven home. I've only driven it around the neighborhood, and whilst it seems to operate fine, without the gauges being used one cannot monitor things such as temperature or speed so i wouldn't advise or recommend that anyone do this. I won't be able to post any more photos or information within the last 12 hours of the auction. But i can answer and send photos to individuals (pending available time to do so). There will be an initial deposit required with 24 hours, and the vehicle can be held for up to a week. Good luck bidding everyone!
