This truck has been in our family/business since new, it has always been dependable, a few months ago I had the engine re-built/machined due to some damage from a broken spark plug. ENGINE WORK (Done Dec 2014)5.2L / 318 Engine was removed and completely re-built...Engine Block Bored .030 over, Both Heads Machined & Re-built with New Springs & Valves. (Delray Beach Speed Shop)New Mopar Performance Crank & Camshaft.New Pistons, Pushrods and Roller Lifters. New Mopar Valve Covers.New Distributor Cap & Wires.New A/C Compressor.New High Output Alternator.New Starter. New Fuel Pump. New Fel-Pro Gaskets used throughout. New Summit Racing Long Headers were installed along with a completely NEW Exhaust System...(See Pictures)I have spent countless hours working on this pick-up, I have driven approximately 700 miles on the New Engine (break in) and am pleasantly surprised with the higher torque generated by this new engine. It's ready for another 100,000 miles...NO LEAKS !! EXTERIOR WORK (Done in 2012)Truck was painted and a 6" FABTECH Suspension Lift was installed. Mickey Thompson Rims & 35" Nitto Tires (1/2 thread now). A Detroit TrueTrac was installed in Rear Differential. New 3.55 gear to help with fuel economy (original is 3.90). Custom built bumpers were fabricated and welded on to the front, sides, rear and inside the bed to hold a tool box and antennas. Front & Back Hitch Receivers (class 4) were installed. Custom Off Road Lights were installed in front as well in the Bed, Rear Bumper and Interior Cab. Rhino liner applied to bed and Bumper Bars. A Transmission Cooler was also installed. INTERIOR WORK (Done in 2012)New Sound Deadener and Carpeting were installed. New Headliner installed and the Seats were repaired. Alpine head unit with a 7 speaker system was installed including a custom fabricated sub-woofer enclosure, Precision Power Amp & Audio Control X-over. A CB & PA system were installed along with a Radar Detector and Satellite Radio System. The windows are tinted. Discussion: 4 Wheel Drive or NotWhile I can appreciate the need for a 4-wheel drive vehicle during certain off-road situations, I would like to remind Buyers that the actual percentage of time average drivers need actual 4-wheel drive is less than 2% of the time. Purchasing a 4x4 Pick-up when driving 98% of the time in 2-wheel/rear wheel drive just didn't make sense to me. The poor fuel economy and additional maintenance made me think twice. In order to overcome any loss of traction, I had a Detroit Tru-Track installed in the rear differential. The occasional need for added traction on boat ramps, sand and mud was easily handle when the Tru-Track instantly locked the rear axle when it detected wheel slippage. Very few 4-wheel drive vehicles are equipped with locking differentials, it remains a rare optional accessory.. To further increase this truck's fuel economy I had the rear gear in the differential increased to 3.55 ratio. It made a huge difference, on the highway, having a fast truck that can pass everything but gas stations gets old FAST !! Note: Regarding the 2001 accident listed on Car Fax Report; While my brother owned the truck it was hit in driver door while being parked at a Home Depot. It was a "Hit & Run" and suffered only minor damage and was professionally repaired.
