1973 Austin Mini 850 from New Zealand - RHD Over 30 years in Southern CA. ! Ownership: - Imported to the US at some point in the late 70’s came to CA. in approx. 1983 - Owned 15+/- years by an eccentric in Palm Springs CA. that parked the car in his warehoused "collection” basically un-driven till . .- In 1998 Mr. Trew from San Jacinto, CA. bought the car but little was done over the years, he was to busy on a Mercedes SL project I saw when . .- I bought the car from Mr. Trew on Sept. 18th 2010 - Verified a New Zealand/Australian built mini by Heritage Garage - Costa Masa, CA. (classic mini specialists) The Exterior: - Because of its past and the lack of being driven, the body shell has been beautifully preserved- There are no signs of it ever being in an accident & I’ve not touch up the paint- At some point the car was re-undercoated & that help to preserve the underside- Car only has one dent (quarter size, under the left headlight) I did with my motorcycle- Only the drivers door has a few little surface rust bubbles, all smaller then the diameter of a pen - Windshield wipers/motor have been removed but are included in the sale . . - There was some surface rust in the roof rain track & truck door, that have been addressed- Paint: original or older respray, shines nicely but is showing signs of its age (light crazing)- Newer: stainless F/R bumpers, Woods&Picket fender flares & front grill - All new seals: windshield, rear glass, doors, qt. windows, trunk/boot & outside roll-up window (2015) The Drivetrain/Brakes: - Original 850cc A-series engine with 4-speed manual with only at 47k miles! "possibly" actual milage given its history- Shifts smoothly with all syncros working properly, newer clutch slave cylinder - New nylon driveshaft coupler w/hardware & new engine brace (2015)- New radiator, thermostat, coolant, oil psi. line & head gasket (2015)- Rebuilt carburetor, new throttle cable & K-N filter (2015)- 20/50w oil/filter change w/zinc added less then 100mi. ago (2015)- Yes she leak a little oil, just a few drips . .“ she's British ” - Four wheel drum’s all rebuilt, new lines & new master cylinder (2015) "stops well"- The original 10in. NZ spec Alloy wheels in nice condition, newly re-cromed wheel lugs, on Falcon 165/70-10 tires 60% remaining The Interior: - Sadly the inside of the car had been used to store parts over the years, so the interior was very beaten up & need to be replaced- Most mini’s leave much to be desired from the interior, so I’ve addressed that, by restoring it to factory original . . - Headliner in good condition stayed (does have some staining), new driver’s door mirror (2015)- Dash gauge back lights, hi/low beam, turn, brake and running lights all in good working order- Cooper S dash cluster added so to included - water temperature & oil pressure - Original front seats & rear bench, have been re-upholstered to new condition (2015)- New front retractable seatbelt’s (2015) - New carpet, floor mats, door panels, rear qt. panels & dash panels (2015)- One matched key for start-door-trunk Ebay Auction details: $1000.
