We ship fast, and care...And we appreciate you...Thanks for checking out our goodies. This item: SUPER RARE.. 1978 TOYOTA CELICA ST......ALL DOCUMENTSPlease take the time to learn about this car...This is going to be a very long and interesting read. You ready? The 1978 Toyota Celica was my first car that I ever owned. I had Toyota Celica’s for years. And as a kid I learned them inside and out. I have changed transmissions, head gaskets, brakes….You name it….I have done it on the 78 Celica. I was a kid….not much money…had to do it all myself. That was almost 30 years ago. I am now a grown man. I stumbled upon this 78 Celica ST with an Original 99,000 miles on it. All documented. It has the almost magical 20R engine in it. The reason why I say “Magical” is because this was known as one of the most bullet proof engines the Japanese has ever came up with in this era. I bought it with the excitement that I had when I was a teenager. Every single oil change documented, every repair documented. I even have the original sales invoice from Gateway Toyota here in Portland Oregon. $5807 isn’t that cool? LOOK…$13 for floor mats. This car has always been in Oregon and that is one of the reasons it is in such amazing shape (No Salt on our roads allowed). Also, the people who owned this car loved Celica’s as I have throughout my life and they kept this car up mechanically as well as garaged most of the time. So. Knowing Toyota Celica’s from the ground up, let’s talk about this one. To find a 1978 Toyota Celica ST of this age in such great shape with all documents is truly amazing. Original Owner’s manual, Original Sales brochure, Repair books…on and on is a feat unto itself. The car. Runs and drives just as it did on day one. Starts right up, No smoke what so ever…NONE. It idles at 2000 rpms until it gets warm then down to 1000 rpms when warmed up. The automatic transmission shifts flawlessly. It seems to shift better than my 2013 Acura TL. This car has never been in a wreck….which is very rare again. Also…this car LEAKS NOTHING. This car has been maintained correctly from Day 1. The pile of receipts show it. I was going to hold onto this car…but then I got married, and am planning a family. So this car has to go. What I have done while in possession of this car. Parts for these are very hard to find. Every part is like $50 and up…so over the past year I have purchased marker lights, radio knobs, the vent cover, etc. I was keeping watch on all Celica parts around the world. I have found everything for this car except 2 things. The door handle trim ring in blue, and back trunk hinge covers on the back deck lid. I just found the final plastic piece I was missing to complete the dash that goes under the steering wheel which will be here in a day or two. Then I bought and installed New Carpet Kit, Tires, New Dash Cover, Repaired the seats and the back upholstery. I had the driver seat taken apart and reinforced….it was sagging. NOTE :Seat upholstery pattern does not match. Passenger is original, driver side bottom is new. Also, it is missing the rear seat belt latches. It has the belts, but the thing they click into when you bring them over your lap is missing on the back seat only. That is the story so far. So, the next person that gets this fine representation of excellent Japanese construction can continue on. This car is nearly 30 years old. It has some dings around the car, it has some haze in the paint. It has spots where people tried to touch it up over the years on some of the little dings. It has a few little rust spots inside and out but nothing major at all. Probably the #1 and 2 things that will have to be addressed is the doors and rear window seal. The doors close, and then they will come ajar. Celica’s are known for this…worldwide. You can read about it in forums. Toyota Celica’s over the years have some sort of rubber grommet that deteriorates in the door latch. And this causes the doors to not stay closed tightly. They won’t come open…they just won’t stay shut tightly. You can’t buy parts to fix this. You either take it to someone who can figure something out, or live with it. I would fix it. The rear window seal has gotten stiff over time and when I ripped out the old carpet and put in the new carpet kit I noticed that in the past there had been some water under the rear seat. So I assume it will need a rear window seal. I keep it in the garage, not in the rain so it was not an issue for me. Everything in the car functions except the clock will stop once in a while. Also the right side speaker does not play. Left one does. The trunk has the spare tire, new floor mats and wipers ready for you to install. I also purchased a roll of matching carpet to complete the trunk. You get to do that if you want. As I said…this car is nearly 30 years old. It is a used car. It is not new. But it IS THE BEST ONE I have ever seen. And to have EVERY piece of paperwork on the car makes this car even more desirable. The car will be sold AS IS. No warranties what so ever. I have described this car to the best of my ability. Please ask me questions before the auction ends. If I parted this car out…I bet I could get a fortune?? Well….I don’t have time, so I am starting this car at $1.00. The high bidder gets it. Please no games. Have your money ready at the end of the auction. I require $500 within 24 hours as deposit via PayPal, and the balance paid within 3 days. I will not end the auction for ANY REASON. This auction will go to the end. If you know what you are looking at, then you will probably be as impressed as I was when I got this. The documentation is amazing and so fun to have. Take a look at all of the photos. Inside and out. This will give you a feel for this car. I honestly cannot believe I am getting rid of this. It drives so nice…..my wife and I took it for a cruise last night. Lots of comments and waves.…even got a note on the car saying “If you want to sell your Celica, give me a call.” I called him…he was just trying to steal it. One kid yesterday asked me if it was a “Mercedes” because of the emblems on the wheels. Isn’t that funny? Wow…I am getting old. LOL ....Good Luck. You see my feedback....Have a great evening.
