Original owner’s manual and service book included as well. The engine is strong and in very good mechanical condition. The car has been maintained when necessary and feels reliable. The fuel injection pump has been rebuilt and the car drives very smoothly throughout the power curve. The alternator and voltage regulator were replaced within the last 5,000 miles along with the battery. The exhaust is new and correct. The transmission is smooth, although downshifting into second gear requires some finesse. The electrical system is fully functioning including all interior and exterior lights. The brakes have been gone through and the pads and rotors have been replaced. The Continental tires have plenty of tread left and the spare is brand new. The suspension has been replaced including Bilstein shocks and H&R springs. The handling is tight and responsive. The interior is largely original and untouched apart from the Recaro seats. The carpets show wear, although the dash and gage cluster are in very nice condition. The sunroof opens smoothly and seals properly. The original radio is fully functioning. The chassis has some rust, mostly located in the right rear passenger footwell. The paint has been re-sprayed in the rare original color black (Schwarz), although the paint could stand to be re-done as close inspection reveals flaws including dings, scratches and touched up areas. The glass is original apart from the windshield. The trunk and passenger doors lock, although the driver door does not. This is a wonderful opportunity to own a project that can be driven as you restore. This car is far from perfect, but with a little love and attention it can easily be taken to the next level.
