This is my rock solid daily driver. I drive 50 miles everyday at freeway speeds and everything that can be done to make this truck road ready has been done. In the past 10,000 miles: - complete professional transmission and torque converter rebuild ($5500 with a 12month/12K mile warranty) - new U-joints - front axle/knuckles rebuilt - rear brakes shoes/cylinders replaced, drums machined - new radiator - new tailpipe - automatic transmission shifter rebuild - just completed a major tune-up including: valve adjustment and valve cover gasket, fuel injector cleaning, PCV valve, new spark plugs, kickdown gear adjustment, all fluids drained and replaced, oil change and lube. - new computer fitted seat covers, mats and steering wheel cover I drive this truck 50 miles roundtrip on the highway everyday. It starts first time and runs smoothly and quietly at 75MPH. The engine pulls strong and doesn't smoke. The newly rebuilt transmission shifts flawlessly. There are a few small oils drips from the engine, but nothing major and doesn't require topping off between changes. The brakes stop quick and straight with no shimmies. I have a file with an almost complete service history that I got from the last owner. I planned to keep this truck for many years to come, but I got a chance to buy an FJ40 that I couldn't pass up, and now I need the bay in the garage. This truck has been in southern GA and FL its whole life and probably never seen road salt. The paint, body and undercarriage are all clean and original with normal wear but NO RUST. I have done my best to describe this vehicle honestly. It is 26 years old and not perfect, but I would drive it anywhere.
