Vehicle Detail
1998 Land Rover Discovery LE. I've owned this since 2007. Had 119K on it then and currently has just under 185K. I am a Land Rover tech (since 2002) and bought it from the dealership as a trade in. I have changed the oil every 3500 miles. I replaced the head gaskets at 160K, but the intake is beginning to leak again. I have plans to replace the intake and front cover gasket, but if not done I will give you the parts. The good:2" Terra Firma springs and shocks.Rear cranked trailing armsUpgraded heavy duty drag link and track rodFront dislocation cones. Have rear cones but haven't installed yet. There yours if you but the truck. Lowered rear shock mounts.Recently replaced water pump, heater pipe coolant hoses, lower radiator hose and transmission line (upper tranny to radiator)265/75/16 BFG A/T tires measured at 8/32"Extended stainless front brake lines. Also just replaced front and rear brake pads & rotors. Repacked bearings and replaced seals.Replaced the condenser fan motors and vicious fan clutch. No overheating at idle with the A/C on.I have a bunch of extra parts (MAF sensor, window lift ECU, tail lamp assembly, etc) that you can have.Had plans to replace the swivel seals and those parts are yours also.Replaced catalytic converter Y-pipe 3 years ago. Replaced alternator 5 years ago. Replaced battery last year.Has Discovery II front drive shaft. Rear drive shaft has u joints, not the Roto Flex style. The not so good:The is paint oxidation on the roof above the windshield. The windshield is cracked. During heavy rain, the seals allow a small water leak into the headliner area near the drivers visor. The drivers seat leather is torn and worn. The passenger seat is worn but better. Seat heaters do work. The panel on the A/C control head is peeling back. A/C controls work. The L/R door doesn't open from the outside unless you pull up on the door lock. I have the spring kit to repair this. Again, it's yours. The headliner is beginning to sag. Its not hanging down but it does need to be addressed in the future. I actually reglued it in spots. The rear bumper is damaged on the right hand side (see pic.). It does pass inspection. There is trail damage on the upper right hand roof area near the Alpine glass. There are numerous scratches on vehicle from off road use. This truck runs strong and is awesome off road. It is my daily driver and has never left me stranded, on or off road. Would make a great truck for the ranch or farm or as a project. No check engine lights or ABS lights. State inspection is current as is registration (expires 11/2015). It's a Land Rover, but it has always been a good truck. Like all old Rovers, it isn't the quietest vehicle nor does it have the best on road manners, but it does what it does very well. E mail with any questions you have. I will post some more photos within a day or two.On Mar-03-15 at 16:22:06 PST, seller added the following information: Wanted to add a couple of things: I have replaced both rear brake lines from the caliper to the valve block. Recently replaced the brake master cylinder bottle. The drivers door panel does have the "elbow" marks so common with these vehicles.
