Vehicle Detail
This 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix is in very good shape and with care it could easily last another 300,000 miles. So, why are we selling it? We are not driving so many miles now and I would rather put our resources into our 1960 Falcon and 1960 Thunderbird. Mechanically, the car has been very well maintained, oil changed when indicated by the GM computer, almost always Mobil 1. The transmission has been serviced. The engine is not original to the car, at about 170,000 miles there was a leak which was cheaper to repair with a good used engine than repair the original engine. I have kept track of service and repairs over the years, a copy is available for serious inquiries. The interior is in great shape, looking much better than vehicles I have seen in the wrecking yards with nowhere near the mileage this one has. Note that we two-toned it with pin striping by Coop so that it does not look like every other white 2002 Grand Prix. I painted the originally silver wheels charcoal Gray which completely changed the looks of the car. The car has recorded, generally, 26-28 mpg on the highway with a high a few times (depending on conditions) of 30 mpg. Why does this 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix have a salvage title? A delivery truck ran into the trunk area causing more damage that the car was supposedly worth. There was only sheet metal damage, no structural damage. Reid’s body shop, one of the best in the area, did the repairs. Later, I was ambushed with damage to the middle of the right side, end to end. Once again, no structural damage and Reid’s body shop did the repairs. In addition to the wreck damage repair, we had the driver’s side rocker replaced (rust) and the area below the gas filler door replaced (once again, rust) and the whole lower part of the car was repainted. (A few years prior I had the roof properly repainted because rust was starting to make an appearance.) A few year ago someone ran into the left headlight area while the car was parked; Reid repaired that also. The minor damage on the front bumper cover? Last winter we had a lot of snow, I couldn't see my normal marks and ran into the Thunderbird bumper, unfortunately, several times. The registration ran out at the end of January 2015, it probably does need some maintenance to pass emissions and possibly safety; Any questions, contact me through the eBay system.
