Vehicle Detail
No Reserve Auction. Final bid wins the car. This 1967 Toyota Land Cruiser has been recently restored and is offered by the third owner, collector of unusual FJ variants. The FJ collection of cars has been shown at Cars & Coffee events in San Francisco and they are always a hit due to their interesting details and clean condition. This one is his cleanest, and has interesting details like an early style Pakistani canvas soft top, rare drop tailgate, custom side stripes, stock steel wheels with hubcaps, and a mild suspension lift. Fitted with a new 400 ci Chevrolet crate motor by its previous, lady rancher owner, the truck runs strong and cool according to the seller. Restored concurrently with the swap, the engine bay and interior or spotless, and the OEM Olive Brown paint with gives the truck a great period look. 1969 trucks featured cool details like the chrome hood spear, small fender lights, bid lights below the headlights, and round taillights. This truck retains all of those and sits nicely thanks to a three inch lifted Rough Country suspension in combination with original steelies and hub caps. TRD inspired orange, yellow and red stripes look good on top of accurately replicated OEM Olive Brown. Photos honestly do not do the truck justice, as it is really striking in person. 33″ BF Goodrich M/T tires look great with white letters facing out, and are joined by a fresh matching spare on the rear, swing-away mount that also holds two jerry cans. The canvas top is a new, and the custom front bumper is fitted with a pass-through for a Warn 8274 winch. The interior is equally well-detailed with fresh, heavy duty carpet and interesting persimmon upholstery done with factory correct stitching and patterns. Aftermarket gauges reside behind an OEM gauge cluster bezel, though an unmodified original with instruments is also included–currently, all lights and instruments apart from the speedometer work well, including the odometer. In the rear, long folding jump seats have been fitted with seatbelts and wear matching upholstery, while doors are sealed with replacement rubber. Matching orange cloth-covered tailgate limiting straps and seatbelts are also custom additions. The neatly installed SBC was a new four bolt main crate motor and now has less than 5k miles. Fueled by a 600 CFM Edelbrock carb on top of a matching intake manifold, a custom aluminum radiator keeps things cool, the seller noting that running temperature is stable and never hot. The truck’s original 3-speed manual is mated to a new clutch and has good synchros. The truck drives very nicely for a lifted FJ. Front wheel bearings are new and brake system flush was performed recently, along with changed differential gear oil. Email for more info.
