Vehicle Detail

1965 AMC Rambler Marlin in very good condition, runs and drives as good as it looks. Would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. Turns heads wherever we go. Beautiful factory black reclining bucket seat interior with matching center console. It has the factory "Adjusto" tilt steering column with very nice original steering wheel. Has a very solid original body with an older paint that still stands up and shines. It does have a couple of parking lot dings and chips, not surprising for a fifty year old car. All original chrome is in very good shape that's pit and ding free. All glass is in excellent shape with no cracks or chips. Matching set of Goodyear Radial tires on later model American Motors factory mag wheels, which really set the car off. The car drives and feels very much like my stock Rambler 327 Marlin or Ambassador convertible. What the car is currently running, (and at great expense by the previous owner) is a Ford Motor Sports 351 Windsor crate engine with approximately 5000 miles. Behind the engine is a C-6 transmission which updates the Borg-Warner the car originally came with. In back is the tried, true and tested Ford 9 inch rear connected to the factory Marlin rear suspension. Also has the original Marlin front suspension with later model AMC front disc brakes. The previous owner like myself also owns a factory original Marlin. He was very careful not to alter this car to the point that it would be difficult to return back to stock. I myself was contemplating installing an AMC 360 or 401 but its runs and drives very nicely as is. I really hate to sell the car and have enjoyed every mile in it, but I have too many toys and two kids in college. Please contact me by phone as I do not check my emails regularly. Thanks and happy bidding, Dave (314)303-7562 On Jan-10-15 at 15:32:25 PST, seller added the following information: Update: I have been contacted by the previous owner and found out two details about the Marlin. The engine is a Ford 351W and only has about 5000 miles, it has Ford Motor Sport valve covers, and an Edelbrock Performer intake, Performer carb, HEI Distributor and Fox body Mustang stock tubular exhaust. It is NOT a Ford Motor Sport engine. Also the transmission is a C-4 which was built by a local transmission shop.
