1964 Split Window Deluxe 13 window VW Bus. Original paint, motor, and equipment. I am the 3rd Texas owner of this bus. I purchased this vehicle in 2010 from an individual who had started a restoration. He purchased the bus in 1992 from the original owner from Abilene, Texas. The 2nd owner took all of the trim off and removed the radio and clock before sanding on the outside of the vehicle for a repaint. The front floor pan has been replaced with a fabricated piece of sheet metal which is not original to the bus. There is a small rust spot in front of the back right wheel well. There is also small dent above the back left wheel well. There is surface rust on the floor on the inside of the vehicle but the floor appears solid. One of the windows is missing on the driver’s door. The bus has not been started or drove since the previous owner parked it for restoration in 1992. The only thing I have done to the bus is put new tires on it this year. Trim pieces, clock, radio, and bumpers were located inside the bus. The bus also contained numerous spare engine parts and pieces that are included with the sale. I've tried to take as many pictures as I can to give an accurate assessment of the vehicle. There is a dent on top of roof at the back left corner. The area where the battery sits has rusted through. There is also a rust spot on the edge of the floor where the two side door open. The bottom of the side doors are rusted but are still solid. I’ve taken more detailed pictures of all the items that were inside the bus and left by the 2nd owner.
