Vehicle Detail
This car has been in my family since new, and it's time to pass it on to a new home. It was my Grandmother's, who drove it from new to 70,000 miles, my Mother's who drove it until 120,000, and mine until 140k. I'm a bit of a gearhead, so I've been taking good care of it and am happy to share all about it's condition.Long story short: It's a well running car with tons of recent maintenance, including lots of preventative maintenance and new high quality tires. It has scrapes and dents (from a hailstorm) and needs a new transmission, hence the low price. Already have a brand new torque converter for the new trans. The Good:Fully loaded with leather, AC, power seats, power mirrors, power windows, etc.Motor runs great No dripping/leaking Clean cream leather interior Updated Mercury Sable door panels (the leather on the stock taurus ones peel off, but not these babies) Brand new (<1,000 miles) spark plugs done as preventive maintenance Brand new (<1,000 miles) ignition wiring done as preventive maintenance New Tires (~2,000 miles), #1 in class all-season tires. AltiMAX RT43 New Monroe rear suspension/struts (<1,000 miles) New Tie Rod Ends Oil changed meticulously every 3,000 miles. No check engine light, ready for inspection Literally driven by a Grandma for 1/2 it's life The Bad:Little dents on the roof and some on the hood. Other dents and scrapes here and there.Needs a new transmission. Currently has a brand new (<300 miles) Torque Converter, but the transmission itself no longer puts power to the wheels. A used transmission runs about $300, and you can put the brand new torque converter into it. It will need to be towed. So there you have it. You'll never find a more honest seller - I work on cars all the time, and always appreciate automotive honesty and good car karma, so I'm passing it on. This is a good, smooth running car that needs a bit of work and will keep trucking afterwards.
