Vehicle Detail

This is a 1991 Volvo 740 Turbo SE. The SE was a very limited run trim level of the Turbo model. It included a full factory body kit (front and rear bumpers, side skirts and rear spoiler) that gives the car a much sportier look over normal 740s. Every piece of the body kit is stamped with a Volvo part number. Performance upgrades for the SE included Volvo's Turbo + kit, essentially an over-boost system giving 20 extra horsepower for 20 seconds at full throttle. As far as I can tell only about 500 SE models were ever produced and most, like this car, were originally sold in California. This car is very clean outside, inside, and under the hood. The paint shines up nicely with a coat of wax with the only problem spot being on the hood (shown in pictures). I recently had all of the tiny parking lot dings professionally pulled. The interior looks brand new; the leather on the driver side seat isn't even worn. Mechanically the car is in great shape. Recent service included all new belts, polyurethane suspension bushings and a completely new factory exhaust system. The few things wrong with the car are: The brakes will probably need to be done in the not so distant future. The tires have plenty of tread left but they are an off brand I've never heard of (on the car when I got it) they are good to drive on but terrible for any kind of sporty driving. Finally the speedometer recently developed an intermittent fault were it just won't work. The problem with the speedometer has caused the mileage to be slightly off as I have continued to drive the car every once in a while to keep it from sitting. Still the car has under 100,000 miles, pretty much just broken in for a Volvo with a red block engine. This is a quick car and very fun to drive. I had bought it with the intentions of swapping in a manual transmission (very easy in these cars) and lowering and firming up the suspension a bit (ipd makes some nice components), turning it into what Volvo should have made if they wanted to go up against the original M3. I am selling it simply because my interests have changed and there is no use in letting it just sit here. Whoever buys it can either carry out what I had planned for it or simply leave it alone and have a reliable and fun daily driver.
