im selling off my car collection a little at a time with hopes of finding good homes with car enthusiast that will give them the attention they need to preserve them in there pristine condition. im finding out as the saying goes " its not the destination its the journey " and so it is for me. these cars give me so much relaxing pleasure to restore but the end result is that i can keep them clean and detailed with having so many, so im offering this 66 mustang fastback that has taken 2 years of restoring for sale. mind you i do not have to sell her but i feel its best! the car was completely stripped down. many of the parts are new reproduction and hours of aligning body panels were spent, actually panel alignment is far better than original factory standards the Shelby kit was added along with the modification of the front lower valance for extra air for cooling, which brings me to the drive line specs the engine is a 5.0 factory roller motor that was bored and stroked to 347 cu. in. producing well over 425hp PLEASE!!! do not buy this for your teenager unless he or she has been raised around hi performance cars!!! this motor runs best on racing fuels of 110 octane but is ok with 104 octane boost and hi test pump fuel the mustang has factory disc brakes up front and 11in rear drum brakes i used a 9in rear end out of a 59 ford fairlane known as a smoothie because of its housing its a direct bolt into these early mustangs without cutting or moving spring perches it has a 3.70 gear ratio and behind a t5 overdrive 5spd transmission this car is very capable of speeds of 140mph so again i caution parents DO NOT buy this car for your teenage son or daughter!!! the car has its original suspicion almost all new with kyb gas shocks it handles fantastic i found over the years that kyb gas hocks really improve handling on the older style suspensions . the interior of the car has been gone thru. all new reproduction gauges that function as they should i did have to replace the speedometer twice quality of some of the repo stuff is not so good but it is working properly. left turn signal indicator lite is not working im sure its nothing major but just saying. the radio is not powered up but is new aftermarket to fit and appear as factory the dash speaker is new its a 3 in 1 style speaker that fit exactly into original speaker mount extra wiring was put in place to add speakers in the rear part of the car im not into music as much as im into the cars performance so if you want music you will have to suite yourself. the cars exterior color is presidential blue with white stripes. its omni 2 stage base clear paint. the body is absolutely rust free. the tires are cooper radials 235 60R/14 all 4 corners and for exhaust i started with chrome headers into a turbo flow style muffler and used all alumunized exhaust tube that is completely welded, my exhaust guys are the best. the car has an awesome sound and lets the motor breathe well . this fastback drives with no rattles or squeaks of any kind window and doors close as they should here is a video link taken just a few days ago its cold here so the exhaust is like your breathe. it is not oil smoke. im not a camera man so i apologize for it being a little shaky if you have any questions just call at a decent time i am in eastern ohio 724 944 5646 thanks! i may consider some trades of other projects that you cant find time to finish im am currently finishing an R code 69 cougar 4spd and an R code 68 torino both very low production numbers to be sold in the next few months. ask if your looking for something, i mite just have it amongst 30 cars and parts ya never know! http://youtu.be/zkIxXtLbWtg On Dec-20-14 at 08:11:21 PST, seller added the following information: a very good friend of mine from corpus cristie tx is coming to visit with me this coming tuesday with another project car and some engines and then to his family in mn so if the buyer of the mustang is anywhere along his route from here to mn or back to tx he said he would deliver it in enclosed trailer
