Vehicle Detail
If you are looking for a durable, easy to maintain, affordable motorcycle this may be your bike. If you are looking for a show bike with perfect paint, this is not your bike. This K bike has 62,207 miles with three previous owners. The last owner had it for 16 years. K bikes have long proven to be reliable and rewarding motorcycles. This one is no exception. It is currently in turn key condition. The Metzelers are in good shape, all the lights work, the horn and gauges all function fine and has had the following maintenance performed: oil change, rear end fluid and transmission fluid change. It is sold with the original toolkit and owner's manuals as well as some extras listed below. It also has a very nice Corbin seat in excellent condition along with a passenger backrest and rear rack. Mechanically I would rate this bike an 8 out of ten and cosmetically I would rate it 5 out of 10. The windshield is intact but it has yellowed. The paint has numerous chips, touch ups, and flaws. The tank is slightly dented on the left side while the right side is quite presentable. The BMW Roundels have yellowed (the bike had a tank bra on for many years) and a flag holder has been bolted to the tail section. There are some cracks there that have been touched up. The bike has clearly been dropped a couple of times but no really heinous damage. I have done my best to show the flaws and I don't really think the right buyer will care but I want to be clear. The hard cases function fine and one is lockable. The bike has four keys. Two ignition, one seat lock and one steering lock. The bike starts easily, idles and runs very well. It pulls though all the gears and the brakes work very well. The gear indicator on the gauge face works but has some discoloration. Like any K bike, it will smoke after being started if left on the side stand. This bike has many miles left in it and I think this is a great opportunity for someone looking to get into motorcycling as you can certainly do worse than a vintage K bike as your first. K bike owners and fans know these bikes are legendary for their reliability and ease of maintenance. There are some extras sold with the bike: battery charger, quality service manual, throttle lock, RKA tank bag, tire repair kit, four bottles of touch up paint, extra bulbs and tank bra. This bike is sold with a transferable Rhode Island registration. RI does not issue titles for bikes older than 10 years. This is a three day, no reserve auction. Please bid accordingly. ***DELIVERY TO THE IMS MOTORCYCLE SHOW AT THE JAVITS CENTER IN NYC THIS SATURDAY, DECEMBER 13 IS POSSIBLE.*** Delivery is available to LI, NYC, CT, MA, RI, VT, NH and ME for $1.25 per mile one way.
