This is the real deal, genuine Porsche! Please read entire listing. Relisting due to previous winning bidder not following thru. I bought this 13 years ago, started the restoration, & planned to finish it with my son. He never got interested in cars, it sat in my garage for years, & now he’s at college. This car has undergone expert craftsmanship on the body and paint. The floorpans and battery box were replaced, and the bodywork done front to back. The work was done by an older gentleman from Mexico that worked on it for a few hours a day, and was used to doing bodywork the “old world” way – with heat, hammering, and patience. The hood & front end were dented, and the vehicle had been stored outdoors for a number of years before I acquired it. If you know these cars you know each was hand built, with body panels fitted individually. The hood was replaced and hood and doors all refitted to assure precise fitment. The gentleman started by removing the front end, putting it on a bench, and over weeks, worked out every little dent. This work also included the main cabin, which had only a few dings. He was very proud that he did it this way, started with a single tube of body putty (not filler), and in the end after doing the entire car, still had ¼ tube still left. The body was sanded completely before multiple layers of primer, then multiple coats of paint. It may be difficult to see in the photos but it has a little pearling in the black paint that enhances the appeal. He returned to Mexico after the third coat and I would recommend one more buffing of the paint. The original engine that came with the car is included, and turns appropriately (not freely – there is compression). The original transmission is included, as you can see in the photos. The car rolls freely. This 356B has the single reservoir style master cylinder so I would recommend to change over to a later system, and do a complete brake system rework. I cannot think of anything this car is missing, other than new bumpers, passenger side window glass and new interior. Multiple engine gaskets and carburetor sets are included (I lost track after 3). It also has a solid gas tank, which are very difficult to find in original stock. All the original gauges are included (as is the radio!) but I can’t attest to functionality. The title is in hand ready for the new owner after full payment has been received. Seats and all the interior parts I have are included. The front windshield has a crack, but is functional. A little surface rust under body, but all is superficial & left to the new owner to decide what to do. I didn’t paint over it as it was superficial and didn’t want any concerns about trying to hide defects. 5 original rims are included (these are very hard to find now) as well as the chromed rims and covers with brand new tires. These are supposedly the widest you can install without modifying the rear fenders. Many new parts as you can see in the photos. NOS side mirror, NOS headlight glass covers, new muffler system, and door gasket sets, as well as a number of other items. The vast majority of Texas cars this old do not have a title, but this one does. It is a clear title. These are becoming more rare by the day, and these almost never come up as decent project cars on eBay. This is an easy winter restoration, not a rust bucket or junk! Check on the prices and you'll see even many replicas are going for a high price, so buying the real thing instead of a replica is an excellent investment! Even the buy it now price provides plenty of room for profit if that's your interest. The car is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to remove the listing if it sells locally. The reserve is very reasonable. Vehicle sold as is (remember – this car is over 50 years old!) $1000 non-refundable deposit required within 2 days of the auction end, with balance of payment required within 5 business days. Final payment must be in a form that is non-reversible. To verify the buyer, a scan or photo of Government issued identification is required, such as a driver’s license or passport. This is to protect both parties, and assures that the title transfer goes smoothly (Texas motor vehicle transfer notification). A bill of sale will also be issued, so you can pay your sales or registration taxes. Taxes will NOT be collected by me (that’s between you and the government). No refunds on this vehicle, so please ask any questions you have. Vehicle and title released when all the funds have permanently cleared. Failure of any of these terms will result in negative feedback and forfeiture of deposit. I will be happy to help with loading but transportation costs and all issues associated with shipping are the buyers responsibility. I will pack all loose items in boxes, and place them in the car when it is loaded. I will make reasonable efforts to assure that items are secure; however any damage as a result of shipping is obviously out of my control. Unless instructed otherwise, I will cover the car with a tarp and secure it. Overseas buyers, please contact me prior to bidding with your plans for shipping and payment. DO NOT DUPLICATE OR COPY!
