Up for Auction is a California1968 Ford Thunderbird Landau Coupe! The car was purchased at the Coberly Ford Dealership (4120 South Western Avenue)on April 6, 1968 by a man who lived in Los Angeles at the time.I believe that it has been a Southern California Carit's entire life until now but I have yet to do the research. The T-Bird is Black plated, smog exempt, 429 Thunderjet, 4 Barrel,Dual Exhaust with get up and go. This is a highly sought after highly optioned auto. The car runs and drives well. Prior to going back on the road recently, it was garaged for many years. The interior is a real time capsule and in very good condition. The engine compartment is quite clean. There appears to be a newer radiator and some other components yet the engine compartment also appears to be stock and undisturbed. The 429 Thunder Jet numbers match the car and there is plenty of pep. The brakes work fine and transmission shifts as it should. The car does not rattle or shake at highway speeds. The Car doesn't burn oil. The windows appear to be Ford original. The driver's seat is powered and works on the drivers side. The seat is manual on the passenger side. The Front windows up and shut power wise. Rear smaller windows do not but I have not checked the fuse box. The exterior has the usual dings, scratches, and dents but overall very presentable. I began to take the brittle vinyl off but didn't have time to replace it and not knowing what color the car may some day be painted, the buyer can decide, or decide to go "hard top" without vinyl.
