Restored to Factory Correct, 1969 Ford Galaxie 500 Formal-Roof Coupe This well cared for time capsule has been carefully restored to its original condition and is absolutely stunning. While it was treated to a full cosmetic and mechanical restoration, every effort was made to preserve and maintain it's well preserved, original interior and retain a factory correct appearance. I purchased this car 10 years ago with 42,000 miles on it and one goal in mind, to make it look like it did on July 17, 1969 when it was sold brand new at Dave Sinclair Ford in St. Louis, MO. It now has 52,800 miles, all of which have been driven since its completion in 2009.In 1969, the new Galaxie 500 and its full-sized counterparts (the LTD and Country Squire) were among the most modern and luxurious Ford's ever produced for the typical American family. These workhorses could take the family cross country on vacation as well as carry you in comfort and style on any night out. For me, this car still carries on in this tradition. It's carried me on several long-distance trips, attended many local and regional shows and each and every time, it performs beautifully and without worry.When I purchased the car, it was from the nephew of the original owner. It was a fine driver with a well preserved original interior, however a cosmetic restoration and a thorough mechanical freshening was needed to really make this car look like new again. R&A Motorsports in Lees Summit, MO has performed most of the work and necessary maintenance keeping this car meticulously well preserved and maintained.As part of the restoration, everything from the cowl forward was removed, cleaned, detailed and reassembled. It received a full mechanical refresh including a new fuel tank, new sending unit, fuel lines, exhaust system, shocks, springs, brake lines, all new front suspension bushings, a full engine detail, thorough rebuild of the brake system and much, much more. The exterior was repainted in its factory correct hue, Black Jade Metallic. It received a new vinyl top, re-chromed bumpers, nearly all side trim was replaced with NOS pieces. The original dealer tag from Dave Sinclair Ford was even reapplied to the trunk lid. New BF Goodrich bias ply tires were installed three years ago. The interior was already well preserved with work limited to a completely restored dash pad by Just Dashes and a repair to the front seat where the seams had split on the driver's side. Everything you see here aside from the reproduction dealer tags, is just as it was when it left the factory. It drives very well and has been extremely reliable over the past five years and 10,000 miles since the restoration was completed. I have many reproduction and NOS parts including enough material to completely reupholster the interior if ever needed, dealer literature, advertisements, etc. I would consider including with the sale. I would also consider assisting in the arrangement for transportation for the car. I do have additional photos available before and during the restoration and can also provide invoices if necessary.
