ESTATE SALE: 1955 Ford Thunderbird. Very nice stock car lovingly owned for over 35 years. Father (collector) passed away a few years ago. Now the family has decided to let this classic go. I am a neighbor, friend and fellow car lover. I am helping facilitate the sale but the successful bidder will deal with and pay the family directly. At that time you can collect more information and history. I will tell you what I know about the car. I admired this car as I drove by for years and saw it around town and in parades. Upon inspection I found a very clean and nice example of this collectable model. It is a true barn find, number matching, black plate Calif. car. Although it has been in storage it has been started regularly and kept licensed. It started right up for me and ran very quiet and smooth. It runs cool and doesn't drip anything. I pulled it in and out of the barn and out front for pictures and it felt good. The car has an original floor shift, 3 speed and an overdrive. Stock radio and unabused dash. I looked it over front to back and found zero rust and no evidence of ever having any repairs. No evidence of any previous accidents. A couple little scratches and a crack in the shifter boot is all I could find. Parts are readily available for these cars. It has a removable hardtop and is set up for a convertible top, but this one came without it. If a person wanted an additional top they are available at between $2200 and $3400. according to material. Just hasn't been needed here in Calif. I can help find shippers worldwide but the cost will be on the buyer. It is for sale locally too so may need to end auction early. But with a little TLC to check out after the storage it will be a great cruiser and show car. We have a very reasonable reserve far below appraised value. I crawled under to verify and there is absolutely no rust in the rocker area and all supports are completely solid. I didn't clean or vacuum so please excuse the little trash. It will clean up fine and looks like everything is there.
