CAR & DRIVER recently noted this 2005 car is an exceptional value and hi end vehicle, priced at $20,000 when compared to current cars in the same price range you get Bentley quality driving at a low end car price. If, you could get this warranty it would be invaluable that any major repairs ( $100. deductible) that may occur would be covered, the mental peace of mind is such a purchase with the warranty in place is a great and valuable feature . Included is the official "ELSA" VW detailed repair and service DVD with full schematics, and parts lists and detailed descriptions used by VW. Also original window sticker & marketing and sales CD & brochures, this data alone is unusual to be available back to its availability in 2005. But don't worry, the car has been and is reliable and solid and can be serviced and repaired, if necessary, by most VW dealers. I bought this car off a VW dealer used by a marketing executive and it has been fully dealer serviced throughout and I still have the service records to back this up. Very little has gone wrong with this car as it has proven very reliable, only the TPMS sensor in one wheel and the trunk lid wiring harness are the only items to have gone wrong, both were repaired and covered under warranty. Also note that in 2005 the Phaeton's suspension was improved to a more more durable less complicated one replacing the previous (2004) one that could cost up to $10,000 to replace when it went bad. The current (2005 and 2006) excellent suspension (shocks and the automatic rising/lowering car suspension feature and the option to drive in comfort, normal or sport settings) is in fine operational shape with no issues. The availability of the superb, transferable 24 month 30,000 mile warranty (to 133,000 miles in November 2017!) with this car through CARFAX is rare and invaluable to your peace of mind for this car, since anything serious would be covered under warranty. Incidentally, the newly introduced 2015 replacement Phaeton currently on sale only in Europe looks remarkably unchanged from this one except for new front end and back end treatments to the lighting systems. Fly in to West Palm Beach & Drive it home, recently returned from a 3700 mile round trip to New England with no issues just great comfort and 23MPG!!
