Vehicle Detail
This vehicle was a barn find in Central Wisconsin. We had intended to buy it to restore and use as a marketing tool for our resale business, but we've determined we are not knowledgeable enough to do it justice. We believe this to be a 1929 Chevy, 1-ton flatbed truck. From the research we could find, we believe this truck would have been used as a workhorse vehicle on a farm, or as a heavy-duty delivery vehicle. We have seen toy models of this vehicle that show it loaded with steel tanks and barrels. We believe most of the parts are original, including steering wheel, hand-cranked windshield wiper, floor pedals, doors and door handles, headlights, grill, front half of body (fenders, hood, etc), and glass fuel pump. There may be more original parts, but we are not knowledgeable enough to make those determinations. We have not seen this vehicle run, but we were told by a previous owner that he had it on the road as few as 3 years ago. It needs a battery, but the engine turns freely. The frame is in very good condition and we see very little - if any - rust on the frame. When we towed it from the barn onto the flatbed tow truck, the wheels turned freely and easily. We have the original name plates, but they are worn and difficult to read. This is what I can read on one of them: CAUTION: Do not overload or overspeed CHASSIS WEIGHT 2350 lbs Maximum allowable gross weight including chassis cab boom driver (?) and payload NOT TO EXCEED 7000 lbs CHEVROLET MOTOR CO. The other is more difficult to read: (CHEVY BOWTIE LOGO) Chevrolet ????????? Division of ????????? Model INTERNATIONAL (?) CAR NUMBER 1/0 4906 We do not have a title, but we do have a signed bill of sale with the previous owners DL# information. We tried to take pictures to show the condition of this vehicle. Please review them carefully and please ask questions. We have never listed a vehicle on EBay before, so please let us know if we've missed something. We believe this vehicle has many good years left in it for the right re-builder. We love this vehicle and wish we had the means and experience to bring it back to its original glory. Transportation/pick-up of the vehicle after the sale is the responsibility of the buyer. GOOD BIDDING! Kelly Nickl
