Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1960 Pontiac Ventura that I took in on trade on another vehicle. I really did not want to since I am a Ford man but it looked cool, has a 4-speed and goes pretty good when you step on it. Before we get to the other stuff, the tires on the rear will be changed due dry cracking on them. It will not have the raised letters on the replacement pair. There is a clear title, 389 V8 and a 4-speed. The car does run, drive and brake like an old car. I just took it down the road to take a few pictures and it scoots pretty good. The brakes seem to work as they should and the trans shifts as it should. The trunk floor needs to be replaced as there had been a rubber mat on it and rusted it away. I do have a new replacement that I purchased and will need to be installed. It does also have new dual exhaust and it sounds really good when you get on it. There is rust as shown in the pictures, the doors close solid with no sag to them. The hoods goes up easily and stays in place and closes solidly. It is a running and driving car that can be driven as you work on it. I would go through it before taking a drive over ten miles to make sure things work as they should. Again it has rust, I am uncertain how extensive the floors are since they were repaired before I purchased it. I did not remove the cheap carpet since it is mounted down, but from under the car it does not look any worse then cars of it's age. The frame looks go with just surface rust. I believe the car has been converted to a 4-speed and the column I believe has been replaced and will need some trim added. I am not sure if the gauges work, but the headlights do. I like the car and would not mind keeping it, but winter is on the way. The plates are not up to date so the car would have to be trailered at this time. Look at the car carefully and ask me questions before the auction ends. I work until 7:00 pm so questions will be responded to later in the evening. Please do not wait until the last day to ask questions due to my work schedule. I may not be able to answer them before the auction ends. The car is sold as is, no warranty and will go to the highest bidder with no reserve. I require a $500.00 deposit within 3 days of auction ending and payment in full within 10 days. I can store the car until the 15th at no charge if needed. I really do not know much more about the car then what I have listed, but if you have questions I will find the answer. On Nov-03-14 at 21:10:19 PST, seller added the following information: I am not 100% sure of the engine size and date and I did find the numbers B1296 by the distributor and 054177YB on the passengers side on the front of the block, I also added a few pictures of the tranny numbers to help you identify it. I am not a GM person, but I can tell you everything about Ford part numbers since I mainly do old Fords. The floors have been repaired and I added a few pictures so you can see what you may have to do to repair them.
