Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1964 Chevelle Malibu Super Sport. This is a true SS as confirmed by the VIN beginning with 45837. LOWERED RESERVEI've owned the car for about 14 years and it was my daily driver for the past 7. It is as dependable as a Timex watch and has NEVER given me 5 seconds trouble. It is equipped with the Power Pac 220 hp 283 V8 with a 4 bbl carb, dual exhaust and a TH350 3 spd automatic that replaced the Powerglide in the 70's attempting to improve gas mileage when gas hit $1.00 a gallon!! It returns between 22 and 24 mpg highway when driven reasonably. Glaspac mufflers replaced the originals prior to my purchasing the car and they sound great. I don't believe there has been much other than bolt on modifications mentioned above performed on the car. The 283 retains it's original canister type oil filter, points distributor, double hump or camel hump heads and the original intake and exhaust manifolds. It has a 10 bolt rear end. I have replaced the radiator, complete suspension including springs, shocks, bushings, etc. Also new master brake cyl, all 4 wheel cyl's and 80% of the metal brake lines are new. I've replaced the wiper transmission and have the original chrome wipers in the trunk. I have a NOS 2 speed wiper switch in the glovebox for the car as well. All new NOS locks including ignition switch, door locks, trunk lock and NOS stock keys. The trunk lock and ignition switch are both installed, the door locks are still in their boxes. Rare original rear bumper guards and factory seat belts for front and rear seats. The floor pans are solid but the trunk pan is rusted through and will require replacement. Overall, the car is in very good condition for an unrestored 50 year old car and would make a perfect restoration candidate or drive it as is. The dashboard is flawless as are the door panels. The original seats need replacement due to sun damage and the carpet, while not heavily worn is very faded. Full factory gauges including oil pressure, coolant temp, amp, and fuel as well as a factory clock. The clock does not work and the fuel gauge works intermittently, likely a ground on the sending unit. While the speedometer works perfectly, the odometer stopped working at approximately 98,000 miles. It now has about 115,000 on it.Outside, the body is in good shape for a 50+ year old car. The trunk appears to have leaked at the trunk lip causing the trunk pan to rust. There is surface rust on the right side of the car. I've not identified any rust through on the car. It appears it sat in a carport with the rear end and right rear side exposed to the weather as this is where the only rust issues appear. The sides and front end of the car are practically rust free as the photos will show. Every part needed to restore this car is readily available through various suppliers down to the SS correct body side molding. This would be excellent to drive as a survivor or conduct a driver quality restoration. With the parts currently available for 64's a full blown concourse restoration would not be out of the question. I'm simply not going to have time to start on the restoration of this car for at least 3 or 4 years. I've got one in the garage, remodeling a house and starting a new business tells me it's time to sell a few of my projects. Drive this one home! Georgia does not issue titles on cars over 25 years old. Accordingly, ownership will transfer with a notarized bill of sale. My reserve is a great deal on a running driving first year super sport Chevelle! On Oct-24-14 at 10:18:07 PDT, seller added the following information: Car is for sale locally. I reserve the right to end the auction early if sold locally.
