1965 Mercedes 230sl Euro 4 Speed VIN: 11304210012983 CONDITION: This SL has been in a friends garage for the last 8 years. He used it as a Sunday driver, and in 2006, drove it into the garage and that's where I found it ! In late 1990 he found a number of classic cars in a barn located in Snohomish, WA. and acquired three of them. The motor was siezed and was replaced with a 250 (1966?) which had been rebuilt. The rest of the running gear seems to be original. He had a local shop paint it to the tune of $5000 back in 2001. Again the car ran and drove well, before storage. So, I would list this as a "Non Running Barn Find". I don't think it would take much to get it running, but the gas is old and I would hate to damage anything trying to start it.... I'll leave that to the professionals !!! DRIVE TRAIN Installed a Rebuilt 250 Motor 4 Speed BODYOlder PaintChrome is good except for left rear bumperGlass is Very good.TOPSHard Top Soft top Black Cloth, can't get the latch to release on Passenger side, but I can see the top thru the access hole.INTERIORSeats Reupholstered with MB Tex ?Carpet is faded.Door Panels are Very good.Dash: I was told that a "blend flap/valve" was not working, so he removed the dash pads and glove boxes to replace the flap. (2006) And never finished. As of yet we have not located these parts, and believe that they are locked in the trunk of the Jaguar 3.8S which is also in the garage. So presume these parts are MISSING until we find them !UNDERCARRIAGERockers are cleanFloor-pan on Passenger side has about a 4" hole.Trunk and Sub-frame are cleanI have alot of pictures but Ebay only allows 24 and I'm not smart enough to figure out how to add more, so if you want to see something, ASK.
