I am the third owner of this super machine. The E39 is one of the finest BMWs ever engineered, a great balance of power and performance in a family sedan. Unfortunately, a divorce has taken the car out of a garage environment and it is eating me up that this vehicle has been exposed to the elements. If I had a garage, I would fully restore it. This car has been the best car I have ever owned, and the most fun to drive. Mileage is just at 102,000 and it continues to be my daily driver. I have all maint. records, 2 sets of keys, owner's manual. The instrument cluster usually fails so I replaced it ($1,400). It received a new clutch and flywheel at 80k miles, new brakes and calipers at 90K miles, I just installed new Bridgestone pole position tires ($1,100) and its in the process of getting all new control arms and bushings ( front and rear). I get a ton of complements on the color and the interior is the titanium trim, not the ugly wood trim found on most M5's. The color I haven't seen anywhere else, and tinted windows were professionally done. The car is 14 years old and its starting to show, headlights are faded, seats have some wear, wheels have very minor scuffs, and front end has paint chips from stones. Mechanically, the car runs perfect! and all systems work. I don't want to part with this piece of german engineering, I hope it will find the right home, this is truly a gift because there is nothing that looks and performs this well in this price range.
