I THEN CAME TO FIND OUT THAT HE HAS DONE IT TO SEVERAL OTHER SELLERS AND YET HE IS STILL OUT THERE. THESE ARE THE DETAILS ABOUT THE VEHICLE NOW THAT THE UNPLEASANT DISCLAIMERS ARE OUT OF THE WAY: THIS IS A 1965 CORVAIR WHICH I PURCHASED TO RESTORE. THE CAR WAS STRIPPED TO METAL AND ANY AREAS THAT NEEDED ATTENTION WERE REPAIRED PROPERLY WITH METAL, AND THIN BODY FILLER. THERE ARE NO FENDERS MADE WITH PUTTY AND NO INCH THICK BONDO HERE. IT RECEIVED SEVERAL COATS OF EPOXY PRIMER, AND ALL THE BODY LINES IN THE CAR WERE ATTENDED TO. IT IS A VERY STRAIGHT CAR. IT HAS A NEW CLARKS CORVAIR MOLDED CARPET KIT INSTALLED BUT NOT GLUED DOWN YET. ALMOST ALL CHROME IS DECENT NOT SHOW QUALITY BUT NICE DRIVER GRADE. THERE ARE SOME SAMLL CHROME PIECES LIKE DRIVER REAR WINDOW VENT THAT HAVE PITTING, BUT THAT CAN BE REPLACED. ITS A PRESSURE CHROME MOLDING. ALL GLASS IS GOOD. TRUNK IN FRONT WAS REPAINTED WITH DITZLER TRUNK PAINT. WINDSHIELD IS IN GOOD CONDITION WITH NO DAMAGE. UNDERCARRIAGE IS NICE AND CLEAN, AND ANY IMPERFECTIONS WERE PROPERLY REPAIRED. IT IS NOT PERFECT BUT IT IS A VERY NICE DRIVER CAR FOR SOMEONE WITH MOST OF WORK ALREADY DONE. THE ENGINE SEALS RINGS WERE REPLACED BUT STILL LIKE ALL CORVAIRS IF YOU LEAVE SITTING YOULL FIND A LITTLE OIL ON THE GROUND. ENGINE RUNS AND SOUND NICE. TUNE UP DONE, ALL PLUGS CHANGED. EXHAUST DUCTS WERE ALSO REPLACED. CAR IS A LOW MILE CAR WITH ONLY A COUPLE OF OWNERS AS FAR AS I CAN TELL. BRAKES WERE ALL REDONE. THEY ARE DRUM BRAKES ALL AROUND. MANY OF THE LINES WERE REPLACED, BRAKE HOSES, THREE OF THE FOUR WHEEL CYLINDERS WERE REPLACED. MASTER CYLINDER REPLACED. BRAKES STILL NEED MORE ADJUSTMENT AS THEY ARE DRUM BRAKES. ALSO ALL BRAKE SHOES WERE REPLACED. CAR HAS NO RADIO AND RARE RADIO DELETE PLATE IS IN PLACE. INTERIOR UPHOLSTERY IS ALMOST ALL NEW OR REPLACED OR DYED. EVERY INTERIOR COMPONENT IS THERE AND IN BLACK. THE SEAT FRAMES ARE THE ORIGINAL SPRINGS BUT ARE GOOD FOR A DRIVER GRADE CAR. ALL PARTS TO ASSEMBLE INTERIOR ARE THERE AT LEAST 99 PERCENT ARE, ILL SAY THAT IN CASE A LITTLE PIECE I AM NOT AWARE OF IS MISSING. SEATS, FRONT AND REAR, DOOR CARDS, REAR ARMREST PADS. SUN VISORS ALL THERE. NEW CHROME LUGGAGE RACK. THERE IS ALSO A BLACK CENTER CONSOLE FROM A CORSA I TOOK PARTS FROM. I ALSO HAVE A CORSA COMPLETE GAUGE CLUSTER. I ALSO HAVE SEVERAL CORSA EMBLEMS. I ALSO HAVE EXTRA TAIL LIGHTS . ALL THESE PARTS WILL COME WITH THIS AUCTION. THE CAR COMES WITH TWO CONVERTIBLE TOP FRAMES, AND A NEW DELUXE TOP INSTALL KIT. 1. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL TOP FRAME IT WAS SANDBLASTED AND PAINTED IN BLACK LACQUER AND LOOKS GREAT. IT IS READY TO HAVE NEW TOP INSTALLED. I ALSO PURCHASED A DELUXE BLACK TOP KIT WITH REAR WINDOW ALL ACCESSORIES REQUIRED TO INSTALL THE NEW TOP FROM CLARKS CORVAIRS. THIS KIT WAS 600.00 AND ITS THEIR ULTIMATE TOP KIT. SO A REFURBISHED FRAME AND A NEW TOP KIT WILL COME WITH THIS CAR.THE TOP KIT IS STILL IN BOX IN NEW CONDITION. 2. I ALSO AM INCLUDING A COMPLETE TOP POWER FRAME WITH MOTOR THAT CAME OFF A CORSA. THIS TOP HAS THE CANVAS ON IT SO IT CAN ALSO BE USED AS MODEL TO INSTALL MATERIAL ON OTHER FRAME. YOU CAN ALSO USE THIS TOP AND DO THE NECESSARY MODS TO INSTALL THE POWER TOP IN THIS CAR. IM NOT SURE IF THERE ARE EXTRA BRACKETS OF SOME TYPE REQUIRED IN THE INSTALL OF THE POWER TOP, I DONT REMEMBER SEEING ANY ON THE OTHER CAR. SOME OF THE BAD:1. THERE IS A SCRATCH ON THE REAR QUARTER PANEL THAT LOOKS LIKE JUST SOMEONE RUBBED AGAINST IT AND ITS LIKE A THIRD THE SIZE OF A DIME WITH A LITTLE IMPERFECTION ABOVE IT. NOT A BIG DEAL AND CAN BE TOUCHED UP EASILY. 2. THE DASH IS NOT WELL PAINTED AS IT NEARS THE WINDSHIELD, IT WOULD NEED TO BE TOUCHED UP IN THERE, I DIDNT CARE AS I WAS GOING TO INSTALL A CLARKS CORVAIR PADDED BLACK DASH INSERT, BUT I NEVER GOT AROUND TO BUYING IT. 3. THE TIRES NEED REPLACEMENT. I WOULD SAY 14 INCH RALLY RIMS WOULD LOOK WAY BETTER ON THIS CAR AND ARE CHEAP ON EBAY. THATS THE WAY I WOULD GO WITH IT. BUT THESE ARE THE ORIGINAL HUBCAPS AND RIMS AND ARE DRIVER GRADE. 4. I DONT HAVE THE HOOD KEY CYLINDER AND i DONT HAVE THE KEY CYLINDER FOR THE GLOVE BOX. THIS IS A PROJECT. GOOD IS PAINT AND BODY IS DONE, NEEDS WEATHERSTRIPPING, INTERIOR AND TOP NEEDS TO BE INSTALLED, BUT IT IS A SOLID CAR FOR A CORVAIR LOVER. IT WAS PAINTED IN VALSPAR CODE UU 1965 CHEVY RALLY RED. THIS WILL MAKE A NICE PROJECT FOR SOMEONE WHO WANT S TO THE FINISHES AND ASSEMBLY THEMSELVES AND END UP WITH A REALLY NICE ENJOYABLE DRIVER. I'VE GOT ALMOST 15K INTO THIS PROJECT.
