Vehicle Detail
This MB is located in Mentor, OH, which is 20 miles East of Cleveland. I am the second owner of a this MB Wagon that has always been in the family. I have had this car for 7 years and only put 2,000 miles on it. It is my "Sunny Saturday" vehicle. I really haven't done anything to this car since I have had it. I was never bothered by a few shortcomings. With a little time and effort, this car could be in first class condition. Or, you could drive it like it is and enjoy it like I have. Either way, you will get a lot of ooohs and aaahs. This is a real fine vehicle. Generally this car is in decent shape considering the age. Is it mint? No. Is it nice, considering? Yes. The leather seats are in good shape and the sunroof is a blast. I would let this wagon sit in my garage through the winter with the block heater plugged in and then put a charger on the battery in May. It starts up instantly. I am always amazed. The pictures do most of the talking. This is a good looking MB with an interior that is really nice shape. The tires are a few years old The shortcomings are: > cracks in the dashboard. If this bothers you, they make a really nice dashboard cover. This was a very common problem, especially for cars that lived in Florida as did this one. > radio and cassette player do not work. Who wants a cassette player anyway :-) > The power antenna worked when I drove the car from Florida, but doesn't anymore. It might be a loose wire or needs to replaced altogether. > AC does not work now, but it did when I first got it. The blowers work fine for heat and venting. The AC might just need to be recharged? To my knowledge, it was never updated to the new system, so this might be problematic? I don't pretend to know about these things. > Rust spot on the right rear quarter panel. > The driver's seat squeaks a bit when you move around. > The rubber piece on the front bumper is loose all the way across but is attached on the ends. Not sure what caused the hooked parts to come loose. A quick fix would be some Liquid Nails or 3M 5200. > It can be a bit sluggish going up hills. It blew through the mountains in West Virginia fine when I drove it from Florida to Ohio 7 years ago. It might just need a good tune-up or fresh diesel? I only go through a tank or two every summer. So, if you are serious about this car, come and have a look and take it for a spin. I would prefer you do that and be 100 per cent satisfied with your purchase. No warranty is expressed or implied. I am not a car expert. In good faith, I can say that I think this car is in decent shape, especially considering the age. It is a classic.
