Vehicle Detail
I have a 1971 Fiat 124 in very nice condition. The car was originally purchased in Arizona in 1971. I am the 2nd owner and had it in Escondido CA from 1983 to 1989, where I had the body professionally painted. In 1989 I returned to Arizona with the car. It has always been garaged, never even spending one night outside. I don't recall ever driving it in the rain either... After my kids were too big to ride in the back seat, I converted to a race car...I toyed with the idea of vintage racing, but didn't want to damage the car so I've been content autocrossing for the last few years. Here is a list of features of the car: 1608cc stock motor...no modifications have been done to the engine. The interior carpet and sound blanket has been removed and the interior has been painted (rattle can). Also, when I removed the door cards I learned the drivers side door had been dented, something I never knew after owning the car for close to two decades. The hood latches have been removed and replaced with pins and keys. The trunk has also been vacated. Magnetti Marrelli Electronic Ignition has been installed. Sachs shocks front and rear installed. International Auto Autocross Spring Set front and rear...although I've removed 1 1/2 coils as they had the car look lifted. International Auto Rear Sway bar International Auto Front 1 inch Sway bar with Urethane Bushings 14" Rial Aluminum Wheels with 215 Kumho Ecsta Autocross tires I just replaced the front and rear brake disks and replaced with new Ferodo Autocross Brakes front and rear Earls stainless steel brake lines front and rear Autopower "Race" roll bar Kirkey Drivers Race Seat G-Force 5 Point Race Harness (dated March 2002, you may need to replace depending on Club rules) Weber 34 DMS Carburetor (removed the 28/36 Weber for tuning and performance) International Auto Oil Cooler Mr. Gasket Electric Fuel Pump located in trunk Painless 12 Wire Race Harness (the stock harness has been removed), the car is wired with two switches, power and fan. And a push-button starts. There is no key. Summit Racing 1 Wire Race Alternator Spun Aluminum Radiator Catch Can Vicks Performance Electric Radiator Fan SF Sprint Air Cleaner Monza exhaust mid section thru tip Iequus Gas, Oil Pressure and Water Temp Gauges I also just replaced the Front A-arm bushings (upper and lower), brake discs and pads on all four wheels, water pump, distributor cap, magnetic pickup and control module and ignition coil just this past Summer. I haven't even driven it other than backing out of the garage and back into the garage with these new parts. The car comes with a clear Arizona Title. I've included a lot of pictures...if you want a close-up of something or have questions, I will do my best to take whatever pics you request or answer your questions. Most of the work I've done myself over the years, so there aren't many service records. I will send the buyer the records I do have. Note, while this is a nice example of a Fiat 124 Race Car...it is a 1971 Italian car. It requires tuning and maintenance typical of vintage European cars. If you are looking for something maintenance free, this is not the car for you.... If you want something to continuously tinker with on weekends or take to the track that turns heads and brings questions, this is a nice car to own. I have had the car for a long time, and its been alot of fun. It does require effort to keep running, but the good news is parts are cheap and plentiful. My wife and I are just at the point where there are other things we want to spend time and money on. The car does not come with any warranty. Also, the Scuderia Ferrari and Abarth decals on the car do NOT imply this is a Ferrari or Abarth. This car is an American version 1971 124 Spider...born on a production line with other 124 street cars headed for America. It was converted to a race car by me, it is not a Ferrari or Abarth and has no racing pedigree. The car is located in Phoenix AZ. If you are bidding I encourage you to ask questions, inspect the car in person, or hire a 3rd party to inspect the car if you live far from the Southwest. I'd be happy to have someone inspect the car, start it, etc. However, the car is not street legal so a test ride would be limited to the mailbox and back for legal reasons. The car also comes with the extras in the photos...shop manuals, some new parts, some used parts. There is also a new clutch cable not shown in the picture that I will include with the sale. Lastly, buyer is responsible for shipping or pickup.
