first to be clear... this is not a factory austin healey. but, rather a classic roadsters replica built in the year 2000. i have owned the car for approximately eighteen months. i am selling the car because i have recently acquired a factory healey and so this one needs to go as i do not have indoor storage for the car at present. since i have owned the car i have purchased and installed the following list of items: american racing two piece torq thrust wheels 7 by 17, kumho tires sizes 225 and 235 50 17s. wilwood dynalite four piston disc brakes and calipers on the rear....ssbc four piston front brakes with drilled and slotted rotors and calipers on the front. new steering rack and tie tods with QA1 adjustable coil over springs and adjustable shocks with upper and lower tubular control arms. KYB gas adjust rear shocks and new leaf springs. also a new master cylinder and adjustable proportioning valve. also the steering shaft was updated to flaming river shaft and hardware. in a nutshell the suspension and braking systems are almost as new. approximate cost of these items is 4500 dollars and i have receipts for most all of them and that does not include any labor for installation!! the motor in the car is a 377 small block chevrolet with trick flow aluminum heads, it has an edelbrock intake with a 750 cfm edelbrock carburetor. in the paperwork i have with the car the builder stated the engine as a destroked 400 sbc. the motor has four bolt mains.also aluminized long tube headers with flowmasters. the exhaust exits to the side just behind each of the rear wheels. the exhaust was almost new when i purchased the car. the transmission is a rebuilt gm 700R4 automatic overdrive that was still in warranty when i bought the car.rt is no longer in warranty. with a .62 overdrive fourth gear and the the eight inch ford positraction 3 to 1 rear ratio, the engine is just loafing at interstate speeds. the puller fan for the radiator is thermostatically controlled. the radiator also has cooling for the transmission and i had it boiled out and cleaned when i bought the car. i installed a vintage air heater and defroster, a kirkey aluminum drivers seat and original passenger seat. the drivers seat has five point harness and four point harness on the passenger side. i do have the original factory seats which match the interior vinyl and the buyer is welcome to them. i also have the matching seat to the passenger seat. i purchased several lesser items such as interior mirror and lucas exterior mirros, healey side flashes, license plate light, healey front and rear parking lights and 1951 pontiac tail lights. i installed new bumpers, new bumper brackets and overriders. also the top is new. one of the pictures shows two small holes in the fenders right in front of the windshield posts. there were fuel injection badges there which i removed. i also have the factory manuals for the car and a considerable amount of paperwork since the car was built. the motor and transmission and ford rear were the driveline components when i bought the car. so after a year and a half of ownership and in excess of 7000 dollars spent i would like to sell the car. it is a kit car and does have some rattles. it has a big cam which requires some warm up time. there is spider-webbing on the drivers front fender flare. the finish is gelcoat and does need a good cleaning and waxing. the handbrakes are not hooked up. i dont need to sell the car but i am placing it on ebay at what i think is more than a fair starting point with no reserve. please look the pictures over carefully and please use the question feature. i am an old retired guy and available most anytime before 9 p.m. i will provide my phone number if you wish to discuss the car.
