Vehicle Detail

This auction was ended early and relisted due to an error with the reserve price. Up for bid is a 1969 Buick Electra 225 Convertible VIN# 484679H181771 that was donated to the AACA Museum in 2011 where it has been in the collection since. The car has a 430 ci engine with an automatic transmission. The car runs good and has been driven around the property here and functioned properly. Please remember that the vehicle has been part of a collection that is not driven on a regular basis, therefore prior to putting back into any kind of service would require a careful recommissioning. The engine runs strong and puffs a little blue smoke but that could be from sitting without being used. There is a brand new battery in the car and it starts up quickly without much effort. The tires are bias ply and appear that they are newer reproduction tires. The interior seems to be original and is in very nice condition with some minor discoloring on the front arm rests. The car also has its original blue Buick floor mats and the vinyl convertible top cover. The dash pad is in beautiful condition and it appears that all the warning lights and gauges work correctly. The carpet has some minor fading but overall is very nice. The front seat is power but does not work at this time. The chassis has some surface rust and has a rust issue at the rear body mounts in the rear. The rest of the mounts look fine. Also the brake lines were changed and painted at some point to prevent them from rusting again. The exhaust has a hole in the resonator at the bottom of the rear weld seam but everything else seems to be solid. The frame appears to be solid even in the spots that usually rust out. The paint is in fair shape with its share of dings and scrapes and appears to have some minor repair work done on the passengers side. The chrome is fair and in driver condition with some of the trim on the sides showing some rust through spots. The rear quarter panel bottoms have some rust through spots on the bottom behind the rear wheels. The driver's quarter in the rear next to the trunk lid has some rust bubbles starting. The white convertible top seems to be the original top for the car and is in good shape. The convertible top works flawlessly going up and down without any problems. Inside the trunk lid was also repaired where there was some rust that was removed and there is also a rust thru spot on the drivers side in the bottom of the lid. Someone with the right skills can repair this beauty to its former glory and have a very nice classic Buick Convertible. Or it can be a great entry level starter project for someone. Good Luck and thanks for looking at our auction. ************** ONCE AGAIN PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE CAR WILL NOT BE RELEASED UNTIL THE BANK CLEARS THE CHECK ( IF THATS HOW YOU CHOOSE TO PAY) THIS COULD TAKE MORE THEN 15 DAYS IN SOME SITUATIONS.*************************
