Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my 1991 Suzuki Bandit 400. I've owned it for 2 years, it was has been my daily ride commuting to/from work, and going on some weekend adventures. Two weeks ago, I was riding home and as I went through an intersection, a car made a left directly in front of me. I managed to avoid hitting the car, but highsided the bike while going about 20MPH. It has minor damage to the right side of the bike. It could easily be fixed, but someone offered me a good deal on a different bike so I am auctioning this one off. Crash damage (that I'm aware of): Right footpeg broken offRight kickplate broken in half but still attachedSlip-on muffler cracked, rashedRight mirror brokenHandlebars bentFront brake lever broken offRear brake pedal bentRight bar grip rashedRight front blinker rashedRight engine case cover rashedSlight rash to right frame, radiator mount, front brake fluid reservoir, right side of fairingThere is also some rash on the left side of the frame from a crash prior to my ownership of the bike. During my ownership of the bike, here are some parts that I have replaced myself or had a local bike shop repair. I have paperwork for most of it.Front and rear Michelin Pilot Road 3 tires, about 1500 milesRear wheel bearingsFront sprocket bearingChain and sprocketWater pump rebuilt with new sealsFront fork seals replaced, fork oil changedFront brake fluid changedRear brake caliper and master cylinder rebuilt, rear pads about 50% remainingFront brake pads changed, about 85% remainingClutch cable replacedSpeedometer cable replacedK&N air filter After the crash, I have ridden the bike slowly around my condo complex, and aside from the damage listed above, it seems to operate fine like it did prior to the crash. You will need to bring a trailer though, because it is not safe to ride on the road in its current condition. This is a great opportunity to get a rare 90's bike cheaply; just replace the parts listed above and it can be your daily rider. Personally I feel these bikes were underrated in the US market, they sold very well overseas. It may just be a 400, but I have been able to keep up with friends riding 600cc bikes and above. The engine loves to be wound up all the way to the 14k redline, the riding position is comfortable, it's lightweight and nimble, and it handles like pretty much every other early 90's sportbike. These are fantastic beginner or intermediate bikes. This bike also has the aftermarket Targa front fairing, which is a highly desirable item among Bandit 400 owners. This fairing alone could be sold for $100+! I am also including a Supertrapp slip-on exhaust to replace the current broken one (carbs will need to be adjusted for new exhaust), and a Bandit tank bra. I have the Texas title in my name ready to be signed over. The bike was sitting in my garage for a week and a half, I wheeled it out of the garage and recorded a video of the cold start: http://youtu.be/QIYtgbvHnlw
