Vehicle Detail

OK Here we go... This 1931 Buick Barn Find came from PA... when we received it it had been sitting for 25+ years.... Look at the pictures and you will see some important information. 1st this fine auto has all her original steel and woodwork... it isn't rotted or rusted.... this would take very little to get running. 2nd it has all the parts, some are removed but all are inside car ready for reinstall. 3rd it had dry rotted tires so a phone call to coker tires and she now has brand new tubes and tires to the tune of about 800 bucks... the artillery wheels are in awesome shape and there is even the spare ready for rubber... Next we embarked on the task of seeing what it was going to take to get her running. We removed the valve cover, and turned her over by hand and yes it was free. we then soaked all cylinders for about 1 month with rislone, periodically turning it over... we then noticed one pushrod was bent, and some valves were stuck. We coaxed all the valves back into functioning order without removing the head and then freed all rockers.... more lube, more massaging, and soon we were ready to put power to the starter. Once we applied power, she spun right up and we gave her a good workout on the starter to test compression, massage the upper end more and then we were ready to install plugs, clean and ajust points, cap, and see if we could get her to fire.... the carb is actually sorta working, but need a rebuild bad... is leaving fluid, and thus I wouldn't do anything until that is addressed... also the fuel pump is seaping from her 80+ year old seals so plan on removing that and rebuilding or replacing as well....so dripping fuel, and a little starting fluid crank we went and after about 10 seconds she fired right up...and of coarse then died.... we tinkered with the carb and she now runs under her own power with a little feathering of the throttle, but again, carb needs rebuild bad..... unsafe, and leaking.... We video taped her running and will gladly send this to anyone wanting to see.... we of coarse will reinstall the side plate and the valve cover before shipment. The interior is all there, and about 95% original.. YES original, and truth be told isn't all that bad... it is brittle, and dusty and dirty, but it is ORIGINAL right, and therefore we didn't do anything else.... The gas tank looks REALLY bad inside, so we didn't event consider putting fuel in it.... It will need attention.... So this nice, pretty rare model 8-67 1931 BUick is ready for her new owner. I need the garage space, so It WILL sell to the high bidder. Please do NOT bid if you do not know what you are getting into, or have the cash.... Someone started to chemically strip the car and some was then put in primer and other left... too bad, because it is only original once... so What are your questions? No it doesn't have the hand crank with it, it is missing that... yes, it has all the headlight, radiator, cowl, lifts, engine cover, etc.etc.etc.... will it drive home, UHHHH NOOOOOO... but you can trailer it lol. Take a look... Want something not everyone has? Here you go... NO this isn't a Ford Model A lol, there were about a billion of those made, but you won't find many of these buicks... heck it even still has the interior shades, yes the original shades are in the car. Sold with a BILL OF SALE ONLY... we bought it that way, and you will too... previous owner said last time it was registered and on the road the didn't use titles, who knows, I don't know, but it doesn't have a title.... contact Ken at 815.674.4129 with offers or questions, or if you want the video sent... P.S. REVISION 1, I forgot.... THe windshield is missing, aka, NOT THERE, lol but all other glass is there, original and rolls up and down.... and the Heat Crossover form the exhaust to the Carb has a HUGE hole in the bottom side, the side of my finger lol.... so it will need to be replaced with a doner... it is cast iron, and looks like it just gave out or rusted out.... so , aka, loud exhaust leak at he crossover next to the carb, also not very safe right? lol....
