Vehicle Detail

old_local_boy Store Did not sell the first time listed. Re-listed with a lower reserve. Last auction went to $10,600 which was below the reserve of $12,500. Reserve this time around is $11,999. Since the first listing, new Tires were installed, driven less than 10 miles on them (Discovered that old tires, although they had good treat on them, has some dry rot on sidewalls.) Fresh oil & filter change, third one in 1900 miles since engine rebuilt. Driven 10 miles since. Cooling system pressure checked, no leaks Compression check, reading from left to right facing engine; 146psi; 150psi; 149psi; 146psi Also, reviewed parts receipts of previous owner and noted that on 4/11/2005, the previous owner purchased a Turbocharger Sub-Assy, part number 017201-74060, at a cost of $1164.37 from Toyota Racing Development in Costa Mesa, California. He had all his maintenance work done by a shop in Towson, Maryland, but I don't have the receipt for the work, just for that part. I have other receipts for pipes, hoses, gaskets, etc., that seem to indicate that the entire turbo system was rebuilt. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Rare 1995 Toyota MR2 Turbo 119,00 Miles The last year for this body style, only 93 MR2's were imported into the USA and Canada in 1995. This includes the normally aspirated model and the turbo. So there were probably less than 45 1995 MR2 Turbo's sold in the USA for 1995.Who knows how many are left...probably not many. The car was shipped from Japan to Portland Oregon , and then delivered to Toyota of Westmount, Illinois in July 1995. Up through April 2001, the car was leased by a dealer executive, and driven 58,100 miles. It was then re-titled, apparently to the same individual that was leasing the car. The car was driven another 8,350 miles before it was sold to the individual in Maryland that I purchased the car from. A hand written log by the original owner details the all the maintenance preformed and the mileage at the time of each maintenance activity from the first oil change at 1,000 miles up to the mileage total of 66,450. The car was then sold to its new owner in Maryland in August 2002. The Maryland owner drove the car 36,675 miles during the 4 years he owned the car. I purchased the car in July 2009 for $16,500.00. The car had 103,125 miles on it I have all the paperwork from the previous owners with all the updates and maintenance performed. At about 108,000 miles, the third gear syncro went bad ( it would pop out of 3rd gear) so I had the transmission completely rebuilt and a new clutch installed ($2200.00). At about 116,000 miles, my mechanic noticed low compression in the number 3 cylinder, so I had the engine completely rebuilt, new everything ($2998.00). I have driven the car 16,000 miles in the last 5 years, with only about 1900 miles over the last 3 years since the engine rebuild. I put an aftermarket exhaust system on and a new HKS turbo timer. It also has an after-market Turbo boost gauge. Also has Koni adjustable shocks. And, the Original Factory Manual, about 2 inches thick, is included with the sale. Receipts for all work to include routine maintenance and engine and clutch and transmission, along with receipt for the $1000.00 exhaust system and $196.00 turbo timer. I was not satisfied with the paint finish, so about 3 years ago I had the car completely repainted the original color, with a clear coating, cost me $3,000. There was no body damage or rust. No rust, no accidents. The car runs excellent, but there is one issue: 1. If the car sits overnight, when you start the engine, after about 30 seconds, the check engine light comes on. Once the engine reaches operating temperature, if you turn off the engine, and then re-start it, the check engine light does not come on and the engine purrs like a kitten. All the sensors have been replaced so not sure what is going on. But, I don’t mind re-starring the engine to correct the check engine light. I am 71 years old and the car has not been raced or abused. I really enjoy the car, but for some reason do not choose to drive it much. I actually bought it because my son at the time had a 93 built out MR2 turbo, it and was really fun to drive. So when I saw the 95 on eBay located right here in Maryland, knowing how rare it was, I jumped at the purchase. After I put the $500 down, the seller told me he had an offer for $18,500, but had already committed to me. It pretty much sits in my barn under a car cover. I keep the battery charged up, and once in a while on a nice day I will take it for a cruise. $500.00 PayPal deposit required, with the remaining amount due either in cash or by a Cashier's Check drawn on one of the following banks: BB&T; Bank America; Sun Trust; or Wells Fargo. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer but I will help any way that I can with shipping arrangements. Thanks very much and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
